    Physical and Spiritual Birth.

    John 3.1-8
    1. "Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

~ 1. Nicodemus the Pharisee, a ruler of the Jews (John 3.1-21, 19.38-42). Joseph, member of the council (Matthew 27.57-60) (Mark 15.43-46) (Luke 23.50-53). Both buried the Christ after His crucifixion.

    2. This man came to Him by night and said to Him, 'Rabbi, we know that You have come from GOD as a Teacher, no one can do these signs that You do, unless GOD is with him."

    3. Jesus answered and said to him, 'Truly, truly I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of GOD.'

    4. Nicodemus said to Him, 'How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?'

    5. Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly I say to you, unless one is born of Water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of GOD.

    6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

    7. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again ("from above" NRSV).'

    8. The *wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it but do not know where it comes from and where it is going, so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.'

~ 8. *Despite the fact that the word "wind" written in all English translations, the translation of the Russian Bible specified and writes this word as a "Spirit."

In any case there is no mistake in meaning of this passage in both ways, in literal or metaphorically. But if take to account entire context of this paragraph, most likely under word "wind" Jesus meant "Spirit," because this entire theme of this context is talking about "Spirit."

People who physically born to this physical world, all born in the same way, and all received spirit that passes with the blood from the mother to her child, which makes our body alive.

The Spiritual Birth from the Holy Spirit is completely different. It happens only when a person reaches a certain mature age (this is differed from a person to a person) that allows a person at the beginning understand elementary and later primary principals of morality as he or she grows in maturity and became ready to choose a way of their life.

In the Bible, maturity, responsibilities, and adulthood start from the age of 20. (Exodus 30.13-14) (Numbers 1.2-3.18-45, 8.23-25, 14.28-29, 26.2.4, 32.11-12).

But at this age a person still has only preliminary morality imbedded in conscience from the birth. But as soon as a person introduced to higher morality of the Word of GOD, the Spiritual morality and spiritual growth became the way of life of every true Christian.

Spiritual people follow Spiritual morality of GOD, the earthly people on the other hand follow their own earthly morality whatever it may be. Spiritual people unite his/her spirit with the Holy Spirit of GOD and follow His Statutes and Commandments to the end of the earthly life.

The earthly person unites his/her soul with the physical world, its morality and its laws and dies physically and spiritually and no longer exist. (See verse 6).
