Proverbs 30:6 proves otherwise.

Pro 30:6 Do not add to His words Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.

Now that is quite a bold statement there 37. So all those scholars that gave us the ESV, NKJV, NASB ISV NET are all liars because they do not use the archaic language of the KJV.

You and a few others on this board like the KJV and that is your choice but why should the rest of modern society be saddled with an out of date text when there are modern text available?

The original autographs are at issue. A variant reading is evidence of a corrupt reading. Only one of each variant reading is true. Not both. God promises to make a liar out of the advocates of those who add to His word.

Proverbs 30:5-6, "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."

The Quran.
Book of Mormon.
The so called eclectic modern versions.
KJVonlyism.

The inerrant word of God is under attack. God will do per Proverbs 30:6.

So you think that all modern translations are attacking the the word of God? That is a ridiculous statement. Do you think it is better to use an out of date text from the 16 or 17 hundreds?

Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic? Which language is your bible written in? Your KJV is just a translation which was good for it's time but clearer translations are now available for those of us who live in the 21st century.

The KJV is not the gold standard that so many KJV types think it is.

One thing I might do is ask them if they use the 1611 KJV
When they say yes - I will tell them it is actually the 1769
But then will pretty much leave it at that.
Which 1769?
Jeremiah 34:16, ". . . whom he had set . . . ." Or ". . . whom ye had set . . . ."

That is a strawman argument. I use the KJV. And I am not a KJV Onlyists!
Do you know why?

Then why do you argue so much for the KJV over all modern translations? You come across as if the KJV is the gold standard? If you want to use it do so that is your choice.

Users do. There are no inerrant translations. There are good and better. All of them have some issues.

Your Bible a translation of God's inerrant word.

Have I ever said we have a perfect translation? NO. Yes some do attack the KJV just as KJVer's attack the modern translations. But what we have now is better that the KJV but of course you will disagree. The reality is that the language of the KJV is archaic and some of the word meanings have changed.

We do not speak Elizabethan English so why require someone to read it to study the bible? That just throws more roadblocks in their way.
