This is outside this Baptist only forum discusion. As Baptists I presume being genuine Chistians in this Baptist only forum.

    All of them. :)

The fact someone may be a "genuine" Christian (actually born anew) does not preclude mistaken belief about various biblical teachings.

    1) Do "Christians" treat other persons with truth or with disinformation based on bias or conjecture? [Truth]
    2) Does one treat the other with the presumption of innocence? [Yes]

    3) False doctrine should not be tolerated, even at the expense of treating the false teacher as belonging to the world. [Just as Paul did.]

After a recent encounter in another thread, I have to agree with you here even more so! No wonder you shouted it.

But it should have been in a bigger, bolder font, underlined, with dazzling color, flashing lights, and a siren! :Wink

    Hodge's three simple rules:

    1. The Scriptures are to be taken in the sense attached to them in the age and by the people to whom they were addressed.

    2. Scripture cannot contradict Scripture.

    3. The Scriptures are to be interpreted under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which guidance is to be humbly and earnestly sought. - Charles Hodge

IMO, many if not most disagreements arise from failure to adhere to the first rule.

All points of disagreement are do to mistaken Bible interpretation. Some are more important than others. So which one is to you, the most important?

What is your specified point of disagreement you think is to be regarded as most important?

Important? As in affecting one's eternal destiny? That's out of our hands. (lol, that should stir some disagreement)

Important? As in affecting one's temporal destiny? Believe/obey the gospel. (which takes us back to BIBLE INTERPRETATION)

The OP question, "What do you think is the most important the point of disagreement?" is a little confusing to me. I took it to mean 'What is the most common cause of disagreement?' (which takes us back to BIBLE INTERPRETATION)

IMO, every point of disagreement on these forums is important to someone.

Perhaps I'm missing your point. Perhaps you can clarify.

    @37818

Are you asking, 'What issue has the greatest ramifications for believers?'

These three specific important aspects of "Christian behavior" can be used to evaluate whether a professing Christian is a babe, having adopted little in the way of spiritual growth.

Your comment doesn't answer my question. ( One does not need to be Calvinistic to hold to Monergistic Eternal Salvation. So your answer makes no sense.)

I didn't say they needed to be but chances are that's where you will find them... I know because those who are of the Synergistic Eternal Salvation mindset you will find in disagreement in the Calvinist Forum with those who believe in Monergistic Eternal Salvation... Now if what you say is true, what need is there of a Calvinist Forum?... Brother Glen:)
