Issues with the Baptist Board

I'm very concerned about Salty. It's been two weeks since he has been logged on. He always tells the other moderators if he is going to be gone even for half a day. Salty posts every single day.

I do know his real name as he asked me once to join his and Mrs. Salty's Facebook page. I do not accept Facebook requests unless I know someone in person. Two days ago, I looked up his Facebook page and he is posting normally. So, he is not sick and Mrs. Salty is not sick.

A good while ago, Dr. Bob and another admin found that they could not log in to the BB. Via email, Saltly tried to help to no avail. I can only wonder if this "glitch" is happening again. Salty has tried and tried to contact the owners. They never reply.

I can only wonder if Salty cannot get back on. This leaves us with NO administrators and only two active moderators. A third moderator, less active, still communicates with moderator conversations. As moderators - we cannot make another member a moderator. Only an admin can do that.

A huge concern of mine is a current thread that is absolutely and completely out of order. It makes me want to leave the Board. There are other issues that I have problems with here, but there is nothing I can do about it.

All I ask is that all of us is that we prayerfully consider our words.

I've pretty much given up on the BB. There are a couple of Open Theists dominating conversations and trying to argue that people who believe in God's omniscience is heresy without using the words, and no one stops them.

What is bothering me is watching a conversation by a newbie with a moderator, who is dictating to the moderator that the thread he started belongs to him and if the moderator doesn't like it, he can get off his thread... I think the moderator should shut down this thread because the poster is pushing his weight around and forgot his Christian civility... If I was a moderator (btw I don't want to be one)... I would shut this OP down in a heartbeat!... Disagree fine!... But don't boss people around!... Brother Glen:mad:

Yep. Put three Baptists in a room and you get five different views. This is a place where Christians can discuss, explore, learn of, and argue differences. But it is not a platform for one position (an echo chamber).

You have my vote for moderator....and POTUS in a few years (when you are old enough).

Actions speak louder than words!... Brother Glen:rolleyes:

Jon... Thanks for the confidence but someone needs to be the sounding board!

Actions do.....as long as it isn't the involved moderator taking the action.

You are good for POTUS, though. :Wink

Then maybe a report will get the ball rolling or do we have to wait for Salty to return?... But you are right we don't want the poster saying hey that isn't fair... FOUL!... Brother Glen:)

Spot on. No one learns anything in an amen corner.

Growing up in a PB Church, for you who been to other churches... And I'm ignorant... I've heard preachers amen another one if they declared a good point in a sermon... What in blazes is an Amen Corner?... Brother Glen:)

Let's report bomb anyone who has a view we don't like!

That'll make the forum MUCH better!

All this responding with substance and rational arguments is dull and boring. It would be much better to create an echo chamber where we can post short two or three sentence declarations of our doctrine and have everyone on the board click the like button and give us our dopamine hit for the day! Gotta love that dopamine!

~le sigh~ At this point and with these attitudes and other attitudes - I don't believe that there is anything that is going to make the board any better.

Everyone loves the bitter fight far more than they love the truth or fellowship. It's as apparent as rain.

I am in firm belief that all on board need to get a life outside the computer.

Of course there is life outside the computer. We have BB access on our phones. :Biggrin
