What we see in Europe is a crisis spurred on by a reduction of cheap Natural Gas reserves with Germany perticullary in trouble… so bottom line the USA needs to be focused on Power Generation and consumption. From my view, this is a must.

Does Germany use AC or DC?

It transmits power with a maximum voltage of 220 kilovolts (kV) or 380 kV. Most of the power lines use alternating current, but the new transmission lines between northern and southern Germany, planned to be completed by 2025, will use the more efficient high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology.Jun 10, 2021

This is or was in the future. It appears they are revamping their entire grid and want to incorporate more dc power (mostly from wind and solar).

Yea. Looking online - They have power issues. It is cheaper to look to DC than patch their grid. They have been talking about this for a long time. They want to get rid of nuclear power.

A high-voltage direct current (HVDC) electric power transmission system (also called a power superhighway or an electrical superhighway)[1][2][3] uses direct current (DC) for electric power transmission, in contrast with the more common alternating current (AC)

I’m not certain that that’s their plan any more. Can you substantiate that? They have emphasized Wind & Solar. I am not optimistic they can generate enough power from that though.

I think that's why the timeframe (they didn't want to use so much from Russia).

I’m sure the Biden adm doesn’t want Germany or any European country buying fuel from Russia. Do we know who blew up that pipeline?!?

Dunno. The US should not import oil. We should drill baby drill. :)
