The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God; and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ -- if, indeed, we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.

Romans 8:23 And not only so, but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting -- the redemption of our body;

Is the redemption of the body when an heir becomes an inheritor?

Phil 3:20,21 For our citizenship is in the heavens, whence also a Saviour we await -- the Lord Jesus Christ -- who shall transform the body of our humiliation to its becoming conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working of his power, even to subject to himself the all things.

To be able to discern 'the regeneration' one must first be 'born from above' [Galatians 4:26]:

...and to actually enter in to 'the regeneration' one must not only be born from above but washed with the water of the word (read gospel) [Ephesians 5:25-26]:

I've mulled over and waffled over the years what 'born of water' means and have basically settled that it jibes with:

24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them.
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 And I will save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you. Ezekiel 36

I will take your post and look at regeneration a little closer but you said to be able to discern the regeneration... There are as you know sub-categories of election, take election the wrong way, you'll be electing yourself... Maybe their are sub-categories of regeneration too?... because also Christ once for sin did suffer -- righteous for unrighteous -- that he might lead us to God, having been put to death indeed, in the flesh, and having been made alive in the spirit, 1 Peter 3:18 YLT

The one named Jesus was dead and after three days was alive. ? Did Christ, the one named Jesus have any spirit in himself, holy or otherwise, when Christ was dead?

John 7:39 YLT and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

? Was Christ being made alive out of the dead, being the first so resurrected/made alive [see 1 Cor 15:21-23] would our sins be washed in his blood? Would we be saved according to mercy?

? Did Jesus actually receive from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit? And then shed abundantly on us?

? Is being the first-born out of the dead and bathe from our sins the same thought as stated about 1 Cor 15:16,17?
