Take it literally like I said. People who declare themselves to be Christians. How could that stump you?

Because it is usually used to belittle those with whom some disagree with by implying they are not really Christians. Thats not what you are doing is it?

You're amazed that Christians can love their country and want the best for it?

So you were-or were not implying that those who you were referencing are not real Christians?

Me? No. I love my country and want the best for her as well.

I have been amazed at the delusion that has fallen upon self-declared Christians in the United States for a few decades now. Not really anything to do with loving our country. It seems to me that there is too often very little to distinguish many professing Christians from the non-professing Christians these days.

Hummm. Is there any such thing as a “non-professing Christian”?

How would you know they were Christians if they didn’t profess it?

How would you know enough about them to determine there is very little to distinguish professing Christians with non-professing Christians if you don’t know who the “non-professing” Christians are, since they haven’t “professed” their beliefs?

    peace to you

No, I don't vote. That doesn't mean I don't love my country (I served 23 years in the Army, am 100% service connected disabled, and get to have knee surgery Wednesday as yet another souvenir).

I don't vote out of a matter of conscience, not because of politics.

But that brings up some of what I mean. There are Christians who would insist every believer has a Christian duty to vote - and others that insist every Christian should not vote - regardless of following their conscious. In both cases they would be encouraging a brother to sin.

And it shouldn't. Everybody should follow their own convictions.

That's a part of what I served our country for - to protect the freedoms we have. Don't think I did much, but that was part of why I joined. I also needed a job, and my father served.

And to hear the Democrats talk, guess I was too dumb to do anything else. :Laugh

yep that is what I thought. If you are going to make those kind of accusations around here you should be big enough to own them.
[Snip] Since you level that same accusation at Trump and you have yet to do it yourself on this board maybe you should consider that. Questioning the salvation of those with whom you disagree with doesnt fit the bill.

And what is “the best for it” entail? Certainly not a Woke agenda, certainly not a higher GNP , certainly not a higher price of housing, food, cars, etc. Honestly, God allows for the election process to flush out the bad and with His help, pick better leadership… and if the citizens took taisto‘a advice and rejected election altogether, wouldn’t that be a complicity statement that the Citizens are satisfied with their present leadership situation? God forbid!!!

Will you acknowledge that Trump is not "better leadership" but is in fact "the bad?" As is Biden.
We are in a post-Christian society that wants nothing to do with the God of the Bible, but rather wants a god of their making from their own imagination of what the Bible says. In essence, we have become the Northern Kingdom of Israel when the tribes split under Jereboam.

Why would you vote for "Ahab?"

No…look at, compare the current GNP… the higher cost of food and housing. Shall I keep going. Besides Biden promised a better economy and now we know that was an intentional lie. BTW, what happened to the Norse Stream pipeline? What happened to the Canadian pipeline. How’s about the financial support of Ukraine… where is the counting for that?!? How bout his Covid shot and closure mandates… to be fate, there is a long list of gripes both I and the Nation has against this SOB.

Trump had four years to get spending under control and he did nothing. Republicans have had decades to stop spending and they have done nothing.
Both political parties are do nothing parties who exist only for their own power. They are godless entities.

I'm sure you could find some people praying to pagan "gods" on the left.
