Orthodox - to be correct in belief.

None of us set out to believe what is not true.

Yet we all have believed things that we think we had wrongly believed before what we believe now.

We all have points of disagreement.

Where and on what points we disagree must be dealt with one point at a time.

Even when the many are actually wrong too.
@kyredneck is right.

Orthodoxy depends on the majority (it is primarily excluding views).

Arminianism, for example, was declared within orthodox Calvinism prior to Dort, and then declared unorthodox.

In the Arminian Calvinism debate each now claiming the other view to be incorrect, that being in some way to be unorthodox. Incorrect. Wrong.

Different.

Here is the definition:

"conforming to established doctrine especially in religion"

Baptists are unorthodox in terms of Roman Catholic doctrine.

Believers baptism is unorthodox when Presbyterian is the basis.

Christianity is unorthodox with Islam as the basis.

Orthodox does not depend on absolute truth. It depends on what established criteria you use as the base.

There are essentials or fundamentals.
Then there are secondary teachings which are not deemed essential to salvation. Some disagree on some of these.
