That's true too. Maybe they would waste it on some vets, for a change.

I read years ago that every time Congress raised taxes a dollar, they raised spending a dollar and a half, or something to that effect. Whatever, it was counter-effective.

I suspect they'd find a way to line their own pockets.

"People are more likely to be right in what they affirm than in what they deny." F.D. Maurice

I affirm eternal life for those who are born again believers. Silverhair unfortunately denies eternal life to some and translates it to temporary life.

The fact is, Christ promised His sheep eternal life, so if they have ever been saved, they have eternal life, not temporary life.

Yep.. . We are almost back where we were in 2020 (3.24% to go). :(

Note: this is debt to gdp (the actual way to measure debt...e.g., owing on a 500k home if you make $25k a year vs if you make 800k a year isn't the same financial situation).

The difference, though, is 2020 reflected COVID, where as we don't have that excuse today.

The U.S. economy is $29 trillion. Thus, the U.S. national debt is 121% of the U.S. national economy. And the national debt is growing much faster than the national economy.

Yep. We are tracking to reach 2020 (126.24%) and keep on going.

Trump left us at our highest debt rate in history (2020) and I think Biden is on track to exceed or meet that.

COVID had a lot to do with Trump holding the debt record in history. BUT even before COVID Trump had brought us back to post WW2 1936 debt.

Problem is both political parties seem to want to spend in order to buy support.

The Republicans and the Democrats may disagree on a lot of stuff, but they certainly agree on growing the national debt of the United States.
