Communion is where we receive Jesus sustaining Life for our resurrection to Eternal Life.

It is Jesus Flesh and Blood that transfers His Life to our flesh and blood.

“For as to what we say concerning the reality of Christ’s nature within us, unless we have been taught by Him, our words are foolish and impious. For He says Himself, My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh and drinketh My blood abideth in Me, and I in him. As to the verity of the flesh and blood there is no room left for doubt. For now both from the declaration of the Lord Himself and our own faith, it is verily flesh and verily blood. And these when eaten and drunk, bring it to pass that both we are in Christ and Christ in us. Is not this true? Yet they who affirm that Christ Jesus is not truly God are welcome to find it false. He therefore Himself is in us through the flesh and we in Him, whilst together with Him our own selves are in God.” Hilary of Poitiers, On the Trinity, 8:14 (inter A.D. 356-359).

Believing Jesus words in Faith, this final test, we eat His Flesh and drink His Blood, and receive His Life.

We are taken into Him and He into us, our flesh and blood are made alive. Our flesh and blood are given the inheritance passcode to the Eternal Kingdom, that is Jesus Flesh and Blood making us proven heirs.

“For the blood of the grape–that is, the Word–desired to be mixed with water, as His blood is mingled with salvation. And the blood of the Lord is twofold. For there is the blood of His flesh, by which we are redeemed from corruption; and the spiritual, that by which we are anointed. And to drink the blood of Jesus, is to become partaker of the Lord’s immortality; the Spirit being the energetic principle of the Word, as blood is of flesh. Accordingly, as wine is blended with water, so is the Spirit with man. And the one, the mixture of wine and water, nourishes to faith; while the other, the Spirit, conducts to immortality. And the mixture of both–of the water and of the Word–is called Eucharist, renowned and glorious grace; and they who by faith partake of it are sanctified both in body and soul.” Clement of Alexandria, The Instructor, 2 (ante A.D. 202).

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God.... - St. Paul of Tarsus. First Epistle to the Corinthians. (A.D. 55)

So the consumation of Christ's body and blood is a spiritual consumation, symbolized (only) by the eating of the bread, and the drinking of the cup. Your quote from Clement above is saying exactly that, in direct contradiction to your quote from Hilary, whoever that was.

It’s not symbolic Flesh and Blood, Jesus Flesh is real food and His Blood is Real drink, spiritual doesn’t mean symbolic.

Jesus didn’t tell us to eat bread and drink wine, He told us to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood.

What Clement is saying is we receive the spiritual through the physical. The Spirit resides in Jesus Flesh and Blood, and by us receiving Christ’s Body and Blood, we also receive the spiritual.

“ So he who eats me, will live because of me “

That’s right, our flesh and blood can not inherit the Kingdom, unless you eat the Flesh of the Son of Man and drink His Blood, you have no life in you.

But in 1 Corinthians, the emblems are still described as bread and wine (or "this cup"):

“For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” (1Co 11:23-26 NKJV)

“Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the Lord's body and blood.”

So although we say the Eucharist is the bread of Life, The New Manna from Heaven, we still understand it as Jesus Body.

It still maintains the form of bread, but is in fact Jesus Flesh.

“ The bread that I will give, is my Flesh for the Life of the world “

The point of Jesus Sacrifice is so that we can eat of that sacrifice and live because of it.

“ So he who eats me, will live because of me “

Symbolic and spiritual. Not physical.

Use a little wine, says the apostle to Timothy, who drank water, for your stomach's sake; 1 Timothy 5:23 most properly applying its aid as a strengthening tonic suitable to a sickly body enfeebled with watery humours; and specifying a little, lest the remedy should, on account of its quantity, unobserved, create the necessity of other treatment.

The natural, temperate, and necessary beverage, therefore, for the thirsty is water. This was the simple drink of sobriety, which, flowing from the smitten rock, was supplied by the Lord to the ancient Hebrews. Exodus 17; Numbers 20 It was most requisite that in their wanderings they should be temperate.

Afterwards the sacred vine produced the prophetic cluster. This was a sign to them, when trained from wandering to their rest; representing the great cluster the Word, bruised for us. For the blood of the grape — that is, the Word — desired to be mixed with water, as His blood is mingled with salvation.

And the blood of the Lord is twofold. For there is the blood of His flesh, by which we are redeemed from corruption; and the spiritual, that by which we are anointed. And to drink the blood of Jesus, is to become partaker of the Lord's immortality; the Spirit being the energetic principle of the Word, as blood is of flesh.

Accordingly, as wine is blended with water, so is the Spirit with man. And the one, the mixture of wine and water, nourishes to faith; while the other, the Spirit, conducts to immortality.

And the mixture of both — of the water and of the Word — is called Eucharist, [thanksgiving] renowned and glorious grace; and they who by faith partake of it are sanctified both in body and soul. For the divine mixture, man, the Father's will has mystically compounded by the Spirit and the Word. For, in truth, the spirit is joined to the soul, which is inspired by it; and the flesh, by reason of which the Word became flesh, to the Word.

The Flesh and Blood of Christ contain the Spirit the energetic principle.

Physical and Spiritual.

How many times do you have to eat Jesus flesh and drink His blood to receive to make you a proven heir?

How many times do you have to eat Jesus flesh and drink His blood until you are 'redeemed from corruption'?
How many times do you have 'to drink the blood of Jesus' until you receive 'the Lord's immortality'?

How often does the Marriage Covenant have to be renewed?

It’s not a case of “ have to “ like someone whose only interest is salvation.

We are not here just to be saved, we are here to Love.

The Eucharistic Communion is the marriage Covenant between Christ and His Bride The Church.

As two become one in marriage, two become one in Holy Communion.

“ He who eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood abides in Me and I in him “

We a told to “ abide in the word “ and with Jesus in the Eucharist this is how it is done.

This is the Wedding feast of The Lamb.

All are called to this feast.

You didn't answer my questions in relation to your quote. You wrote/quoted in #1 post. I will ask again, if you don't answer what I am actually asking , I understand why. Here goes:

You haven’t understood what I’m talking about.

Being heir by adoption is by being The Bride of Christ.

The Church becomes daughter of The Father.

LOL. Oh I understand alright. You wrote something and I asked you something about what you wrote and you give me a rabbit trail. Typical, but not unexpected. Sad. Have a good day.

The Church becomes the Daughter of The Father through the Son. The adoption is only through The Son.

By the Bride being One with The Son The Father accepts the Bride as His daughter.

I’m not a theologian, that’s how I understand it as a Catholic garden contractor.

The Father Loves who The Son Loves and suffered and died for.

The Bride is precious to The Father because of The Son.

Many are called to the Feast, few take this invitation, but Jesus chose us who love Him.
The Father will accept us because Jesus made Himself One with us.

There are house rules with Jesus, yes, but The Father can not look at us and not see Jesus, we are One with Jesus by Covenant Communion.

The Father can not condemn The Son.

Jesus our elder brother comes to us in a desperate hour, and tells us to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood so that we are acceptable to The Father.

This is why I thank Jesus with all my heart, because He chose us amongst infinite possibilities.
In Communion Jesus came to me as a helpless baby, Holy Fire. He chose to entrust Himself to nothing me, arms out innocent and without reserve.

Jesus saw my ugliness and loved me anyway.

Those who love Jesus will recognise Him at the breaking of the bread in the Holy Eucharist.

It is the Lord.
