The Saving results of the Death of Christ !

1Jn 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Did you not say that "the whole world" meant only the elect?

Have you not denied all the scripture that shows we are saved by the risen Christ and insist that we are save by Christ on the cross?

So not a false accusation BF. You clearly deny the word of God and hold to that pagan philosophy from the 4th century.
Nothing there states Christ death doesnt save, thats your blasphemy sir, and yes thats the world of the Justified elect 1 Jn 2:2. for nothing there states He died for all without exception, Now Christs death saved them He died for because by it, He purged away their sins, purified them, not by His resurrection, but by His Death Heb 1:3

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Now what does it mean biblically to have sins purged away ? How were they purged away according to scripture ?

When will you learn to read verses in context BF. You keep making the same silly mistakes when you ignore that.

When will you believe whats in the context ? You make a more stupider mistake Did God give them as a Gift to believe in Christ yes or no ? Phil 1:29

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Are not those who are purged from their sins, set free from the punishment of sin ? Heb 1:3

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Purged here means:

  1. a cleansing from the guilt of sins wrought by the expiatory sacrifice of Christ

Isnt that not guilty, justification ? In Rom 4:25

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

The word for Justification here is δικαίωσις:

  1. the act of God declaring men free from guilt and acceptable to him
  2. [adjudging]1 to be righteous, justification

So Christ death for the elect Justified them, purged away their sin guilt b4 God, and to deny this is a serious mistake.

The saving efficacy of the death of Christ was verified by His Resurrection,

Ellicott wrote :

For our justification.—Because of our justification—i.e., that justification might take effect in us.

The death of Christ is the proper cause of justification, or means of atonement, according to St. Paul; the resurrection of Christ is only the mediate or secondary cause of it. The atoning efficacy lay in His death, but the proof of that efficacy—the proof that it was really the Messiah who died—was to be seen in the Resurrection. The Resurrection, therefore, gave the greatest impulse to faith in the atoning efficacy of the death upon the cross, and in this way helped to bring about justification. Comp. especially 1Corinthians 15:17, “If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins”—i.e., you have no guarantee that your sins have really been remitted; if the death of Christ had not been followed by His resurrection, the inference would have followed that it was merely the death of an ordinary man, and without any special saving efficacy. Romans 4:25 Commentaries: He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.

Christs death accomplished/effected both Justification and Reconciliation for them He died for, His Elect Rom 5:9-11

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement/reconciliation. 3

BF you are so consumed by your C/R philosophy that you read everything through that failed view.

You have yet to provide any clear scripture that supports your view BF.

You are like a little child that will not accept the truth because it is not what you want to hear.

1Jn 1:2 says the WHOLE WORLD , no qualifier they BF. So unless you have a different meaning for Whole World it does mean His death covered the Whole World's without exception. If you don't like that then you have to prove that is not what it means.

Christ did just as the text says BF
Heb 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Christ covered the sins of mankind, that is what His being the propitiation for our sins means BF.

For a person that is supposed to have studied the bible for decades it is amazing that you do not know this.

Actually I do not think it is the bible you trust but rather you trust the writings of augustine, calvin and the other calvinistic writers.

You continue to deny the clear word of God.

You are acting the fool BF. Every time you post you are denying the truth of God

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Short answer NO . They were already believers BF. So not faith unto salvation but continued faith to overcome.
Php 1:1 Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons:

God gives all believers sufficient faith to withstand and overcome the attacks of the adversary and continue to believe in Christ Jesus
Php 1:27 Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
Php 1:28 in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God.
Php 1:29 For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,
Php 1:30 experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

There were already believers BF. And your continued denial of the truth in those verses shows that you do not read things in context.

It is painfully obvious that you do not want to believe what God has said in His word. You are committed to supporting the pagan philosophy that augustine brought into the church.

You are way to desperate in your attempt to disprove what the bible clearly say BF. You want the word of God to support your pagan philosophy, sorry that is not going to happen.

You seem to be working against God by your continued denial of what the bible says.

BF you have just proven what I have been trying to get you to understand.

Christ's death saved no one but it did atone for the sins of all mankind. He was the propitiation for the sins of the Whole World.

The doctrine of justification by faith, which is so nobly proved in the preceding chapter, is one of the grandest displays of the mercy of God to mankind. It is so very plain that all may comprehend it; and so free that all may attain it. What more simple than this? Thou art a sinner, in consequence condemned to perdition, and utterly unable to save thy own soul. All are in the same state with thyself, and no man can give a ransom for the soul of his neighbor. God, in his mercy, has provided a Savior for thee. As thy life was forfeited to death because of thy transgressions, Jesus Christ has redeemed thy life by giving up his own; he died in thy stead, and has made an atonement to God for thy transgressions; and offers thee the pardon he has thus purchased, on the simple condition, that thou believe that his death is a sufficient sacrifice, ransom, and oblation for thy sin; and that thou bring it as such, by confident faith, to the throne of God, and plead it in thy own behalf there. When thou dost so, thy faith in that sacrifice shall be imputed to thee for righteousness; i.e. it shall be the means of receiving that salvation which Christ has bought by his blood. Clarke Romans 4:25

The condition for our salvation is faith in the risen son

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement/reconciliation. 3

So are you now suggesting that not everyone is an enemy of God?

Rom 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Rom 5:2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
Rom 5:3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
Rom 5:4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
Rom 5:5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Rom 5:6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
Rom 5:7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.
Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Rom 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Rom 5:11 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Where do you find the word "elect" in that text BF?

What I see is that He died for
the ungodly.
we were yet sinners

That would include all of humanity unless you think some are not ungodly sinners.

But notice what Paul wrote BF
having now been justified by His blood
we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son
having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

So what we can know from the text of the bible is that all those ungodly sinners, humanity, have been justified / reconciled to God. So He can now save those that trust/have faith in the risen Christ.

You are consumed with the notion Christs Death doesnt save anyone. Incredible to confess that

His death made all of humanity saveable but as the bible says we are saved by His life.

I am surprised that you continue to deny this biblical fact.

You even posted the verse that proves what I just said BF.

Rom 5:10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Are you now going to deny that you posted that verse?

You will continue to deny scripture and search for verses that you think support your view but to no avail.

Joh 3:14 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
Joh 3:15 "that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
