Brother Shawn,

Many of us can agree on what the scriptures communicate to us, regardless of the translation. Just know that some of us use an English Bible other than the KJV, but that's okay—we don't need to divide over it.

I know that Christianity is heavily regulated in China, and I think this is a good platform for you to have some form of fellowship, so please stick around. Maybe we can shift the topic to something that doesn't get so heated.

What are your thoughts on the current situation in Rome and the new Pope?

First paragraph I agree that we don't need to divide over it - but there are those who say that the KJV is the ONLY true Bible and the we should only use that one. That I am not able to agree!

2nd & 3 paragrajp - interesting subject - but that is off OP in this thread. Feel free to start a new thread with that subject.

That is a heavy topic. What is it about that that you don't believe?
Faith in what God says is the evidence. This according to He 11:1. According to Titus 1, God cannot lie. If one believes God ever gave a perfect testimony then you believe it is possible to have one.

One of your own on another thread found an error in the KJV and corrected it with the NASB, It was Mark 16:15 compared with Col 1:23. Now I am left guessing what God really said and there is division between us and now we cannot come to the same conclusion about anything going forward.

We are destined to arrive at two different theological destinations. The words all and every and creature and creation are not the same if specificity is the goal.

Well, seems I have to continue.
You don't have to.

But if you do please keep in mind that degrading or slandering any translation of God's Word is not permitted.

You may want to start by explaining what exactly is God's Word.

Is it the words He gave through the prophets and Apostles (which were in Hebrew and Greek)?

Is it what those words communicated to the initial audience?

That's a good place to start because the KJV disagrees at points with the words of the source language.

IF the KJV is God's perfect word using your methodology (comparing words) then God's Word did not exist until God gave it to the Anglican Church.

IF your methodology is correct then you have to hold the heresy of "second inspiration" to English speaking people (like Mormons who believe God gave a special revelation to Smith).

What I don't understand are those who say that the KJV is better than than the original Greek!
That doesn't make sense to me either.

Some do seem to think that God delivered His Word to the Anglican committee and this trumps everything.

But mostly I think KJVO people just cling to tradition and think it makes them holier.

I have even heard people pray in Ye Ole English (seriously... like "we beeseach Thee").
We'd call it "putting on airs", like the Pharisees.
