What would be your recommendation for a basic Christian library?

I would say a good bible dictionary, Commentary, and a bible atlas to start, along with a good study bible

if you can afford it Logos Bible has a great library of resources. They even as of lately made groups that may fit your church (I can;t remember if they have a baptist version now)

I have hundreds of resources that I can use in the blink of an eye. and they are interactive (i click on a word. I can see the greek word. Then with a link, I can access multiple greek sources to help me study that word. Same with commentaries.. I can take a passage and see multiple commentaries. I can even put them side to side.

Expensive but well worth it

We recommended inexpensive hands-on (print) books for new believers to enhance their understanding of the Bible, lands, words, doctrine. About $30 and that is amazing price.

$8.50 Nelson Bible Dictionary

$6.50 Holman Ultimate Bible Atlas

$15.50 Holman Concise Bible Commentary

For those either just now saved, or else desiring to grow now in their understanding and knowledge of the Christian Faith?

1. A basic Study Bible, (not a speciality study Bible, like a Men's Study Bible or the like).
2. A 'How to Study the Bible' book, such as Gorden Fee's, "How to Read the Bible for All it's Worth", Howard Hendrick,s "Living By The Book" or for mature believers, Scott Duvall's "Grasping God's Word".
3. A few diverse Bible versions, to include the ESV, NIV, NKJV, NLT (available on the internet)
4. A basic doctrine book; I highly recommend "None Greater" by Matthew Barrett.
5. A Christian book that sparks your interest and keeps you repeatedly coming back for more.

Very good list, would just add to it Thompson study bible, as it gets someone right into word of God alone for growth, and those scripture references are great , and also Knowing God by JI packer
