Would you support a Just War from the Bible then?

Jesus told us not to murder, but that is not the same as killing in war, or in self defense
We are commanded to live in peace, as for as we are able, not to repay evil for evil, pray for our enemies and leave vengeance to God.

War and self defense are separate issues.

Peace to you

Would that be acceptable under certain situations or not?
I would, but I have seen no US war in my lifetime as prudent. There are times we should strike enemies, but I don't support long drawn out wars. I think we should have hit Afghanistan, but not the way we did. I agree with the at that time US Senator from Georgia, Zell Miller, who said on the Senate floor "Nuke the Hell out of them.".

1 Timothy 5:8
"But if anyone doesn't provide for his own people, especially provide for those of his own family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

Provide protection as well as sustenance/shelter and love. A "just" war would be endanger/threat to my own people. Example. Japan invaded Manchuria, Korea, and then China in open war and aggression in 1930's. Few in USA would think sending our troops or ships to China or bomb Japan would be "just".

Dec 7th, 1941 changed it to a "just" war.
Arguably Genocide is when it became a just cause to fight. The Japanese were in a lot of ways worse than the Nazis. Both needed to be put down.

Do you think that's what's going on in Palestine right now? Do you support the expansionist Zionist ideology of 'Greater Israel' that Netanyahu is advancing? Do you think they should go to war to take Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian territory, among others?
Is that the actual goal? I was under the impression that after 20 years of Hamas using gaza as a base to attack Israel that the Israelites had had enough. Of course, it is hard to tell because at this point everyone hates Israel for one reason or another and simply pushes what they want the truth to be. Like Tucker Qatarlson.

Harry Truman dropped an A-Bomb on two Japanese cities, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians. I know there were military operations there, but civilians nevertheless. Do you think Japan surrendered because of the loss of military production?

Russia starved 20 million Ukrainians to death by destroying their crops and captured the country.

Civilians have always been targeted, directly or or indirectly.

There is no way to sanitize war. The results are always brutal. Many believe Christian’s should have no part in it.

Peace to you
The A Bomb saved more lives than it took though, and did end the war quickly

I never said what God is doing is wrong. You misunderstand my position.

God has often used ungodly men, and their wars, to bring judgment upon nations. God doesn’t need Christian’s to be involved in wars or the killing that accompanied it.

Another example is the death penalty. God allows the state to use the power of the sword, the death penalty.

Christians, however, should not support the death penalty based on Paul’s teachings in 1 Timothy that God demonstrated mercy toward Paul as an example for future Christians to follow.

Paul was a murderer, by his own admission. The worst of sinners. God has commanded us to follow His example with Paul and show mercy to the worst of sinners, even murderers like Paul. You cannot show mercy and support the killing of another.

Like I stated earlier, the Church has debated these issues from the beginning. Nothing we are saying here hasn’t been already argued for 2000 years.

It’s ok if we disagree

Peace to you
Both capital punishment and killing in war as a soldier would be on a personal basis, as in individual preferences and convictions, as one cannot use the bible to justify binding either way and view on all Christians
