MLB spring training for 2026 is expected to begin in with pitchers and catchers reporting around February 11th or 12th. The first full workouts for position players will follow about a week later, and the first games are typically played toward the end of the month, with the Cactus League starting around February 20th.

I encourage baseball fans to enjoy the 2026 season, as the Los Angeles Dodgers winning the World Series two years in a row, and their massive spending on salaries, may have gone a long way to having the 2027 season cancelled, either partially or all together, over the issue of a salary cap in the negotiations over the new labor agreement, with the currently one expiring after the 2026 season. The NHL lost a whole season on this issue in the 2004-2005 season.
