11 | And into whatsoever city or village ye shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go forth. |
12 | And as ye enter into the house, salute it. |
13 | And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. |
14 | And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet. |

Thank you. But I am not Charismatic or Pentecostal that performs miracles or like healing or cast demons. But just a sample missionary pastor of holding the faith statement of Baptist Fundamental who work myself, and now situated in a village since March this year.If the reports are true, it looks like serving in love selflessly, receiving answers to prayer, miracles, healings, and casting out demons are effective ways for missionaries to gain respect in pagan villages. Imitating Jesus, obeying His instructions, exemplifying a genuine devout Christian life.
Not attacking the pagan beliefs, but explaining and living the better path.
After backsliding for many years after I got saved, I hit rock bottom. I began reading Buddhist texts like the Lotus of the True Law and many sutras, both Theravada and Mahayana. I learned that my horrible problems were due to my own karma.Thank you. But I am not Charismatic or Pentecostal that performs miracles or like healing or cast demons. Even if I did it, I still have no way to show them. They simply do not want Christian. I was stopped to share but I am still looking a way. Still praying. Indeed they believe Idol, they are Buddhist.
Thank you for sharing and encouragement. If you are able to share the book, I would appreciate it.After backsliding for many years after I got saved, I hit rock bottom. Then it was a book by a Vietnamese Buddhist monk that brought me back to the Christian faith of my youth. Book is called Going Home: Jesus and Buddha As Brothers by Thich Nhat Hanh.
Near the end of the book, the author said if you are a Christian, do not become a Buddhist, just enjoy the good ideas and moral teachings of Buddha. Somehow, this drew me to my 2nd spiritual awakening. The light of Christ began shining in my soul again. I read the Bible, returned to church, and married a wonderful Christian woman.
Buddha and Jesus had many similar ideas and sayings. I do not think Gautama Sakyamuni Buddha wanted to start a religion, but wanted people to be peaceful, gentle, generous, loving. So the Buddhists are not extremely alien to Christianity in their heart.
However, Jesus is the true Lord and only Savior. Buddhists think they can perfect themselves to get to nirvana and stop being born over and over again in this world. Buddha was an atheist who had nice ideas, but taught a false salvation.
I think your job is to be even more good, more peaceful, more loving than any Buddhist could be, so they see the supremacy of Christ, how Jesus is better than Buddha. Buddhists probably pay more attention to behavior and actions, rather than words and preaching. Prayer and holy living are the keys to victory here. I am praying for you that you may see the power of God in bringing many Buddhists to faith in Christ.
I borrowed the book from a local library. But the Holy Spirit can teach you how to reach the Buddhists and bring them to Christ.Thank you for sharing and encouragement. If you are able to share the book, I would appreciate it.
I am not a position to get it.
I have no experience of witnessing to Buddhists, but generally the best way to introduce the Gospel is to speak of the Lord Jesus -- of His miraculous birth, His perfect life, His love towards sinners, His atoning death on their behalf, His glorious resurrection, His acension into heaven and His return in glory. Do not argue against Buddhism or any other religion -- not at first, anyway, as this will simply antaginize. If you were in a village where they don't like Christians, what would be the best methods to engage with them or slowly tell the gospel?

Well I live in New Jersey and I’ve lived here for 69 years. It’s a lost portion of the country. We live in the Wall Street corridor that is fast acting, rushed, heart attack generating and secular. So the churches in this environment constantly are psychologically pulled apart leading to FOCUSING ON a getting through the day rather than relying on God. Most people here dont ( ie, have lost their balance). So what to do….as the 7:45AM NJ train packs them in like a can of sardines on the way to its destination). If you were in a village where they don't like Christians, what would be the best methods to engage with them or slowly tell the gospel?

In my environment they are mostly Muslims or Catholic… I would assume Buddhist being peace loving are much more attracted to Christ.I borrowed the book from a local library. But the Holy Spirit can teach you how to reach the Buddhists and bring them to Christ.
im skeptical. Most of the people you speak with will outwardly reject the gospel & if so will reject your efforts so what do you do then? Yes, the HS can and will empower conversion if they are true Children of God but often it takes far more to convince the common human.1] Establish that the word of God has been written, Explain A biblical worldview

I agree that nobody but God can save the person… but do you believe that the person needs to be first selected & then regenerated first? … in order to be born anew?Hank is 70 years old with a Masters in Divinity from Moody. He long ago abandoned arguing with people. Now, whenever anyone wants to argue about "religion", Hank begins with "Let me tell you about my grandkids ..."
1) there is nothing threatening about talking about your grandchildren.
2) there is nothing more real than talking about the faithfulness of God across THREE GENERATIONS of a family that has trusted Him.
Armed with the truth about who God is and what God really does in very human and practical terms ... what they do with that information will forever remain between THEM and GOD. [Nobody can save someone else.]
