Having guilt and anxiety issues

I am a born again Christian, and I attended an Independent Baptist Church with a great pastor. About three years ago I did some terrible backsliding. And the last few months, my mind has brought it up again. I talked with my pastor, and he told me if you repent, God has already forgiven you. He said to plead the blood of Jesus Christ against the attacks of satanic. And gave me some good Bible verses to study. I am having such a hard time forgiving myself, and I want to be sure God has forgiving me, and to not send me to hell.
I feel as if I have a broken heart. I am very nervous and having been sleeping well.
Thank you all for listening and God bless.
Yours in Christ, lkuzeja

Our forgiveness that God provides:
Hebrews 8:12, For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Also 1 John 5:9-13. Titus 1:2.

Speaking from experience you have to let it go. Ask for forgiveness and He has promised He will give it.

The apostle Paul told us we must forget those things in the past and move forward. If you don't you will never have complete joy in the Lord.

Our attention must be on the future with Christ. Leave the past at the foot of His Cross and move forward.

Philippians 3:13-14

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Take heart!!
They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”— Jeremiah 31:34
“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the LORD,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.— Isaiah 1:18
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.— 1 John 1:9
I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I did not hide;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD”;
And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.— Psalm 32:5
Brother or Sister, live for Jesus, put your soul into your savior! Your love for Jesus needs to lead you from yourself and your lusts. Lord, be a shield to this brother or sister from temptation and demonic attack, in Jesus name.

Three Bridges has a song called "Forgive Myself". I also used to be a self persecutor. It utterly hindered my confidence and boldness to serve the Lord. You must forgive yourself to be effective in the service of the LORD. Once that hurdle was cleared, things greatly improved.

2 Timothy 1:7
7) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Perfect love will cast out your fear! 1 John tells us how:
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love, because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.— 1 John 4:15-21

Self persecuting is something I too struggle with. Tormenting is wrong, whether done to self or others. Condemning ourselves indicates a serious lack of faith in God’s mercy and a morbid fixation on self.

When self cruelty arises in me, I try to refocus my mind on the blessings and promises of God.

We are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, so we cannot be hating ourselves for bad backsliding in the past.

For the first time in my life, I am looking at my own past very critically and am horrified at much of it. This development is good.

But then I wonder if I might actually, when my life is over, end up in hell, where there is no escape forever. I am trying to obey specific commands of Jesus and ensure that He will not declare at judgment day, “I never knew you. Depart from me, you worker of iniquity.”

I use to thrill to the promises of God. Now I tremble at the warnings. But the bottom line is I know that I am trying hard to be the good solid Christian man I was meant to be. I trust the mercies of God my Savior. Praise Him forever.
