Not merited is the primary condition of election! Because salvation is a gift.

Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Matthew 22:14, For many are called, but few are | elect. |

Not exactly sure what your point is, but I just wanted to make sure that you were aware that Mt 22 talks about a man who was not dressed in proper clothing for the wedding. As a result, he was not chosen, but was kicked out. He was responsible for wearing the right clothes. This is where your quote falls. The Master did not predestine that choice from the foundation of the world. The Master has provided the righteous clothes of Christ. It is our responsibility to accept the righteousness of Christ by faith and wear those clothes!

1 John 5:4, For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Revelation 3:5, He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;

Romans 4:5, But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Matthew 22:11-13, And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Revelation 20;15, And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 3:5, He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

True, those born by their faith overcome the world because they are born again in Christ.
Revelation 3:5, He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;
Amen, through faith in Christ
Romans 4:5, But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Amen!

Thats works, salvation conditioned on the action of man. And not Christs Person and Work alone
Romans 4:5, But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Ephesians 2:8-9, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

1 John 5:4, For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

No thats faith. Faith is not a work. Per Paul.

for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

Complete Nonsense!

The phrase "Condition of Election" refers to the basis of God choosing the individual for Salvation according to the New Covenant in His Blood.

And that condition is having faith in Christ that God credits as righteousness.

Excellent post!!

I agree, it is the responsibility of the lost to accept ... Christ by faith! If God credits their faith as righteousness, God transfers them into Christ where they undergo the washing of regeneration, and become the righteousness of Christ in Him. There is more to the gospel than Christ was sinless. He was raised from the dead. He is the Son of God. He performed His miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I just read that statement “condition for election” as “nobody can be saved unless they need to be.”
Since that is where everyone is, it just looks to me like he said everyone is eligible. It doesn’t mean that everyone will be saved. In that he said primary, he acknowledges other conditions that must be met. Chronologically, you must be in need of the Saviour to have faith in Him as Saviour.
If there is something in undertones of the statement made by @37818, it is not evident to me.

Not of works being a condition is not nonsense
