I’m sorry Cathode, I know you grew up and believe In the Roman Catholic Church… and so did I. My family lived and breathed it and I was born before the Vatican 2 era so I know allot about it,,and I’m not unsympathetic to the people being fed theology and dogma by them. But we must all grow up sometime. But I don’t buy it anymore, nore do I buy most of the Church Inc in the American country. My eyes are wide open to the nonsense of perpetuating of hoax to well meaning ppl searching for God ( and never finding that elusive character in the sky).

I’m almost 70, life is short so I’m going to brake the rules, stop and smell every rose, forgive quickly, love honestly & laugh till it hurts. For to see the absurdity of life, what else can one do?

The Father is very near, not in the sky.

Say the Our Father 10 times slowly first thing in the morning and surrender your will to His Holy Will.
The repetition is for you not Him. It is to give you the disposition to surrender to Him.

He will show the power of His Presence to you each day, and soon you will recognise it. The Father is very real and personal. This never fails, if you go in trust and humility as a child.

No one enters The Kingdom unless they accept the Will of The Father.

I did have a very dear friend and friend of the family…. He hung himself in his closet and another friend of my wife that was crossing the steet to bring food to a shut in and was run down … her husband who dearly loved her committed suicide shortly there after. So where was God?

I see the news with many disasters, fires, floods, murders, suicides and many ask Where is God in all this.?

Then I see the news reporter the next day; saying “A massive outpouring of generosity, volunteers and community spirit is bringing hope and comfort to the victims, this has only brought the community closer together “

That is Gods love being poured out through people. “ volunteers working tirelessly “ and “ Families realising what is important “

Where is God? God is in the response.

So your saying God will magically appear? Grandma and grandpa and mom prayed continuously, on their knees a rosette in hand and nothing. Had it not been for Patsy our grand uncle and family leader, we would have starved to death… and he was a member of the mason’s who got excommunicated… and a lovely caring individual. He owned businesses, supported his brother and family with work at his butcher/ grocery shop … signed for and payed down the debt etc. Never saw him pray yet he was a good guy to all except that scandal of a French priest who had affairs all over town (that adulterous sob)… rot in hell. When this priest saw that Patsy was a Mason he excommunicated him… and Patsy laughed. That’s my hero, not hypocrite useless Christian’s. If that pedo priest ever tried anything with me, Patsy would have made him disappear. Nick… fetch me my bone saw will ya please. Southern Italians are the greatest people on the planet!

I was well on my way to being a criminal but then I met my wife. She wasn’t going to live like that. She raised me up to being a hard working honest guy … and he took that from me… now I’m back without any allegiances and nothing to constrain me. My only concern is my dog Blue.. he is a true companion and friend. I’m breaking all the rules this time w/o any fear of the consequences and then I’m telling him it’s for Pam, you taught me that … you twisted it till it broke.. good luck getting heaven outa that as I laugh. She sat there night after night praying and reading Bible text.. for what… praying is useless.

I don't have the answers either, that I once thought I had. But I do firmly belive this: Nothing bad comes from God, but from Satan and the evil kingdom. So, while I don't believe God causes the bad, what I don't understand is why He often doesn't prevent or stop it.

That’s the million dollar question… and the other one is where did Jesus disappear to from age 12-30… the missing years. Why won’t they tell us? Not suggesting, not spiritualizing. Nothing vague. What happened? Where did his knowledge, his persona, his ease, his wisdom come from…and I expressly don’t believe god planted him like a flower till he bloomed… that’s an answer-no-answer evasion tactic that doesn’t wash.

Some people turn against God and blaspheme Him when their prayers are not answered the way they desire. Perhaps their prayers were not even coming from a righteous life, but only God knows.

Terrible, rotten, horrifying things happen to everyone, as no one is immune from tragic catastrophes.

Death of my beloved, adored, thoroughly Christian wife is the worst, most miserable thing that ever happened to me. I immediately saw that I was either going to give up on God, to whom I prayed fervently…or I was going to struggle to maintain love for God in spite of my disappointment. I continue to try hard to somehow accept her death and cope with my nightmarish loneliness, instability, and despair.

We cannot judge anyone, nor can we feel their pain, sorrow, and frustration.

All we can do is stand before the throne of His Eternal Majesty and tearfully plead that Our Father will lovingly forgive those who hatefully turn against Him. Today that one, tomorrow it could be me, God forbid. The Adversary is ferocious and will devour, not nibble on, those who cease fighting.

I have decided that no matter what happens to me or my loved ones, nothing will make me bad mouth or mock my Savior, whom I have disgraced so many times in my wretched backsliding life of hedonism and self-indulgence. If only the final 1% of my life brings honor to Him, it is better than nothing.

Take up your cross means endure whatever suffering and agony you must experience. I wish the Christian life was all perpetual beds of roses, but it is not. We are invited guests in God’s universe. We could have never existed. Our lives are precious gifts, even when they seem unlivable and pointless. I keep that realization in my heart.

So your suggesting my prayers for my wife were not sincere then you suggest I’m not a righteous? Is that your position?
