The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has chosen to discontinue its relationship with two congregations that employ women as pastors.

Salty, did you ever get around to asking the Executive Director of your own state convention why he had a woman as his associate pastor?

And a few months ago, the SBC's Baptist Press announced that Baptists in Texas elected Pastor Debbie Potter as their state convention President!

Salty, did you ever get around to asking the Executive Director of your own state convention why he had a woman as his associate pastor?

NO, I have not - even though the State office is in Syracuse, the Director lives in NY City. However, I have an appointment with a state trustee (or whatever they are called) and I will bring that up with him! Wanted to get with him on a couple of other issues.

According to the link - there is only one - and she is an executive pastor - whatever that is.

I just looked at their church page - there is no associative pastor
