The desolate land of Israel becomes like the Garden of Eden

Ezekiel 36:22-38

22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord God, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

33 Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Ezekiel 37:19-28

19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

28 And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

Jer. 30:4-18

4 And these are the words that the Lord spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

5 For thus saith the Lord; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

9 But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

11 For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

12 For thus saith the Lord, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

13 There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

14 All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.

15 Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

18 Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

Accomplished in the New Covenant Church at Jerusalem. Christ told the Jews in Matt 21:43, "...The kingdom shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof (Of the Spirit). The church nation was gathered together according to the covenant of Jeremiah 32:37-44 and accomlish by the work of the hands of the Lord in Christ declaring in Matt 16:18, ..."Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." It was validated by the pouring out of the Spirit in Acts 2:17 as the fulfilling of the prophecy of Joel 2:29 and the promise of Proverbs 1:23. Types and shadows being revealed in the person of Christ (Jn 17:3) and the house of God set in order. Fellowship and unity restored as in the Garden of Eden.

"If that has already been accomplished how do you explain Isaiah 14:1-3.

For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,"

Jn 15:15 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you... The beginnings of the body of Christ at Jerusalem, the choosing of the true Israel of God. I will set them in their own land is expained in Matthew 13 in the parable of the good ground. Strangers being joined is no more than gentiles being added to the churches. The Pharisees were consider oppressors and those coming into the New covenant church would have to be in subjection to that covenant. Christ tells of them in Matt 11:12, "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Luke 1:68 Bless be the Lord God of Israel, for he hath visited and redeemed his people
vs 69 And hath raised up a horn or salvation for us in the house of his servant David.
vs 70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets which have been since the world began.
vs 71 That we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all that hate us.
vs 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant.
vs 73 The oath that he swore to our father Abraham
vs 74 That he would grant to us that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him WITHOUT FEAR
vs 75 In holiness and righteousness all the days of our lives
vs76 And thou child shall be called the prophet of the Hightest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways:
vs 77 to give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins (restored as in the Garden of Eden) (Captivity taken captive Romans 6:20-22)
vs78 through the tender mercy of our God whereby the dayspring on high hath visited us
vs 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet in the way of peace.

The question must be asked is since the kingdom was taken from Israel (matt 21:43), to what nation was it given? Have we been without the eternal kingdom of God for 2000 years? 1 Peter 2:9 says "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy NATION, a peculiar people, that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. ALL the elements of the kingdom of God.

If i did not fully answer you points, please let me know and I can go into further depth.

You are correct in that the Kingdom was taken from Israel when the religious leaders rejected and crucified Christ.

You are correct that the Kingdom was given to the Church/Gentiles to carry Christ to the world.

Where you are wrong is that Israel has not been cast away, as Paul said. They will again be chosen by God to fulfill their calling to take Christ to the world during the Millennial reign. That marks the end to the times of Gentiles and Israel's reign.

This is the answer to the disciples question in Acts 1:6 when they asked "will you at this time restore the Kingdom to Israel?"

Christ told them it is not for them to know.

When John the Baptist and Christ came preaching to Israel "Behold the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" the Kingdom was being offered to Israel at that very time. But they rejected Christ and the Kingdom was given to the Church to fulfill Israel's calling.

But Paul tells us that Israel has a date wit destiny with the Kingdom being given back to Israel when they are all saved, as Paul said, "all of Israel shall be saved."

What we must understand is the Church is God's second choice, the nation of Israel are the chosen not the Church.

And the chosen (Israel) will be restored to what God originally planned for them to be in this world.

I'm babbling on now, but this is where Covenant Theology went off the rails.

It doesn't recognize this fact of Israel, the separation of the Church and Israel in God's plan.

The word Isreal mean he who will rule as a prince with God and Paul makes it clear that they are not all Israel who are Israel. Indeed all Israel will be saved, in the exact same way we are saved. So you think that the church at Jerusalem, to whom the oracle were chosen to be given to, the formation to whom the words of salvation was taught, will be stripped ot that authority and given to Israel in the middle east?

When Paul said that they are not all Israel who are Israel he was denouncing Israel's claim that Israel was saved (national salvation) by the fact of being the birthright of their father Abraham.

Notice Paul said, not as though the Word of God has taken none effect, they are not all Israel that are Israel.

Some were saved, the remnant, but most were not by their false belief.

Since the church is put in the position vacated by Israel as described in 1 Peter 2:9, what condition will cause them to lose that authority and position. The church with the New Covenant or original teachings was never the second choice of God. The old covenant operated under types and shadows which could never take away sins. And since the church has the original teachings and intents of God, it then becomes part of the good olive tree into which Israel must now be grafted, not the other way around.

The Church is not cut out, they are spiritual Israel, the olive branches that were grafted into Israel's covenant with God.

The covenant is not with the Church, it's with Israel.

The covenant is not with the Church, it's with Israel.

The Church is 99.9 % Gentile, we are the spiritual Israel through the faith of Abraham, but we are not the natural descendants of Abraham, Israel is.

They are as Paul said the natural branches of the olive tree, the Church is the wild branches grafted in.

Isreal was given the original teachings but went after other gods, forgot their redeemer, and became like the nations they were commanded not to follow. They had become very similar to Amalek in that some tried to hinder those who would follow Christ into the New Covenant. Mt 11:12, Lu 11:52. The New Covenant has the teachings and intents of the original teachings given in the Garden. Since the scriptural New Covenant church has those teachings and Israel as that rebellious seedline has been thrust out (Lu 13:28) then thy can only be grafted back by being grafted into the New Covenant church which has become the good olive tree or that what is teaching the glad tidings or gospel of the kingdom. Natural decendency is of no significance to a spiritual people (John 1:11-13) as to power, authority, or inheritance. The rebellious seedline of Israel is now like unto Amalek. Compare Amalek withstanding Israel going to the promised land and Luke 11:52 and Matt 11:12 This would require any literal decendency that would enter into the kingdom understanding to repent and be baptized. And where fo we find that?

Sorry, Where do we find that?

Not sure exactly what you're looking for.

But if it's about the olive tree branches? Paul is speaking to the Gentile Church.

Rom. 11:17-25

"And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in."

Well, you're doing what Paul told us Gentiles not to do thinking Israel has been broken off permanently.

Paul would call that being "high-minded." A failure to recognize that the "olive tree" (the New Covenant in Christ's blood) is theirs and we are grafted in by faith.

I'm babbling on now, but this is where Covenant Theology went off the rails.

It doesn't recognize this fact of Israel, the separation of the Church and Israel in God's plan.
Ephesians 2:11-22. '...For He [Christ] Himself is our peace, who has made the two [Jew and Gentile] one. .... His purpose was to create in Himself one new man out of the two , thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For by Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.' (NIV, 1984).
God's plan was and is to bring all peoples together in one in the Lord Jesus Christ (c.f. Gen. 12:3; 18:18 etc; Gal. 3:8-9, 28-29). Ezekiel 36, when viewed through the lens of the Lord Jesus (John 1:45; 5:39), teaches that plan. This is not 'replacement theology' but Inclusion Theology.
