Void his auto-pen pardon and prosecute.
Probably trying to protect himself from what Biden's pardon won't cover.
Trump pled the 5th over 400 times in the 2020 civil disposition.
It never looks good, but with politics nobody knows how things will go.
Sad part is we never get to where we need to go. At this point what needs to be done is an after action review - what went good? What went bad? That helps deal with such things in the future.

All I care about is that justice is eventually served for all who suffered loss of any kind during COVID.
I don't care how many times he pleads the 5th. Legally speaking, it's answer all questions or no questions.
That's why they are asking questions like "what color is your tie?" And other frivolous things. If he slips and answers those questions, he's liable for them all.
If you are just a witness and not on the defensive side you can pick and choose what you answer
But if you are interested in sheer number, Donald Trump pled the 5th 450 times when giving a deposition to New York AG Latitia James.

BUT there is a VERY BIG difference between Fauci and Trump pleading the 5th!
Fauci was granted a general Pardon by President Biden on 19 Jan 2025 (Bidens last full day as POTUS)
So WHY was Fauci afraid to answer:

I don't think there is any difference between the two men pleading the 5th.
They were both advised to do so. Fauci and his lawyers know that the pardon, if pressed, is as worthless as an American penny.
And do you think Trump was afraid?
Does anyone on here really expect anything to come of this? I don’t. They are wasting tax payer $$$ by doing this. Same with Pelosi, the Bidens, Comey et al. It’s all show, no go.

hate to admit - but I do not remember that testimony where Trump constantly took the 5th
But you do have to admit - he did not have a pardon to fall back on - did he
I don't want to argue about Trump on the BB. I'm in the minority here. It was in 2022 in a deposition with Latitia James in NY. She was trying to "catch" him in something with his business practices.
Why do you think that Trump's lawyers made him do that? I think it's because they, along with the whole world, knows that his mouth gets him into trouble all the time. If he answered one question, he would have been liable to answer them all - like Fauci.
And, in my own opinion, there is no pardon to "fall back on". It's worthless. And if the Republicans who like to talk a good talk would just take care of it - they could have that pardon reversed.
Anything Latitia James was/is involved in is rather shady. I would have pled the fifth as well. We are not required to answer anything.
