I wonder what Adam thought, "dying thou dost die," even meant?
Well Adam was no simpleton. :) He was given charge by God to name multitudes of animals. But he wouldn't have known much about spiritual or physical death. He also did not stop Eve taking of the fruit of the tree.

The question was "Do animals sin?" Answer NO but they still die.

Secondary question, did Adam and Eve sin? If so then what was the consequence?

What does the bible tell?

Scripture is communication from God. It must be interpreted in light of its historical context, its literary context, and its cultural context.

Science is a method that must be repeatable with built in assumptions. Another name for that method is the experimental method. The data is analyzed using statistics. Researchers may disagree on which statistical tools may be used. There are several mathematical systems.

Scripture and science agree about as much as speech and math do.

There are those who make the claim a day is always 24 hours. Someone would have to read very far in Genesis to dispute that. "God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” There was an evening, and there was a morning: one day. -- Genesis 1:5 (CSB)"

Christians should know their Bible not what someone who repeats what they read or heard, who repeats what they read or heard, who repeats what they read or heard, and who repeats what they read or heard. It amazes me how long some "cans" have been kicked down the road.
Define "the word of God" from Genesis 15:1 will get you far and far from disputes that lack credibility. It amazes me how many "experts" there are who are not Christians who cannot tell people how to interpret an English narrative and they are experts at interpreting Hebrews narratives. They don't have a clue about the structure of a Hebrew narrative and they definitely do not understand communication. There are so many experts on science and they cannot give a basic definition of science.

So, if you don’t mind, your comments leave some questions in my mind about what you actually believe.

1.) Are you saying that a day is 12 hours and you don’t count the night or you count the time the same way so the earth is actually 12,000 years old because of day on one side of the earth and day on the other side makes two days?
That was probably as confusing for you to read as yours was for me.

Help me understand what your point was.

2.) And are you saying that Scripture starts at Genesis 15:1 and what comes before that doesn’t count for anything?

Again, help me understand what your point was.

We need to read scripture carefully and not impose our ideas onto it. Genesis 1:5 shows there is more than one usage of the Hebrew word for "day". The word of God from Genesis 15:1 is the message of God. Hebrew didn't come into existence until about the time of Joseph. Abram was before that time. The language Abram understood would not have been Hebrew, but the text was written later in Hebrew.

These are some interesting ideas.

What pre-Babel records do you have of languages? You assert some things that are not reasonable to accept blindly.

How do you know when Hebrew came into existence?
You have a book authored by Joseph maybe titled my “New Secret Language or How to Communicate with Siblings You haven’t Spoken with in Years Without Pharaoh Eavesdropping”

Please, if you are able, back up your claims.

And since you don’t believe that Genesis 1-14 is God’s message, whose is it?

Who is Adam and who cares?
What makes you think I have sin?
What is your basis for anything?

You can read works done by Hebrew scholars who are experts in that area. One of them is Dr. Douglas Petrovich. He also gives lectures that are posted on YouTube. He also interacts with scholars on Academia.

Whatever gave you such ideas?
And since you don’t believe that Genesis 1-14 is God’s message, whose is it? Point out where I wrote such thing.
Who is Adam and who cares? What is your point?
What makes you think I have sin? Where did you come up with that?
What is your basis for anything?

Did you not read what I actually wrote instead of what you assume? Wise people ask questions before making assumptions.

He has copyright dates??

Your own words.
Define "the word of God" from Genesis 15:1 will get you far and far from disputes that lack credibility.
The Word of God from Genesis 15:1 onwards.

Your reaction says that this is not what you meant but I got nothing but a restatement of the same words. That leads me to believe the same thing, misunderstood or not.
The word of God from Genesis 15:1 is the message of God.
The Word of God beginning with Genesis 15 is the message of God.

That is what I read. Would you care to clarify this time?

And since you don’t believe that Genesis 1-14 is God’s message, whose is it? Point out where I wrote such thing.
See above.

Who is Adam and who cares? What is your point?
If you don’t believe the first chapters of Genesis, what is the point?
What makes you think I have sin? Where did you come up with that?
What is your basis for anything?

Did you not read what I actually wrote instead of what you assume?

Well I asked for clarification and I got none. Instead you repeated the idea that God’s message starts in Genesis 15.

What else am I to assume???
The context of the discussion has everything to do with whether or not the beginning of Genesis is able to be accepted as written.

I let you know what it sounds to me like you are saying and asked you to clarify you position.

You’re upset with me but you still have not said anything that would lead me to believe otherwise.

Wise people ask questions before making assumptions.
It is impossible to ask a question without having made any kind of assumptions.
If you would spend less time being offended and trying to offend by calling people unwise, we might actually get some worthwhile discussion in.

I’m sorry if I’ve misunderstood you. It is not my intention to twist your words or make you say something that you haven’t. I have asked for clarification. I would appreciate a better attempt before you start name calling.

Sin impacted the whole earth. I believe animals came under the curse as well. Even the earth changed that day.

What was the length of time before Genesis 1:1 and God himself?
What was before God Himself????

Alright, I’m not assuming.
I’m asking questions first.

What kind of question is that??

Didn’t you ever read that God is into the future everlasting and also into the past everlasting?

Psalms 41:13
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Psalms 90:2
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Psalms 103:17
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

Psalms 106:48
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.

So you do not accept the possiblity of the "gap" between Gen 1:1 & 2?
Personally I don’t see how you can say that God accomplished creation in six days with billions of years of preparation.

Exodus 20:11
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
