My answer would be "No". My son is an adult now, but when he was younger, we did not let him go trick or treating. It seems a strange activity for Christians to encourage or permit their children to take part in, as it seems to promote the idea of "Give me what I want or face the consequences!" It is many years now since I had any children at my door asking for treats at Halloween. I have never heard of "Trunk or Treat" - do the children dress as elephants?

Incidentally, so much about Halloween seems unbiblical. Some children dress up as the devil, in costumes that bear no relation to the biblical description:

Halloween is pretty much a non-event in my neighborhood. We are rural, and our small neighborhood
does contain some whose moral values are rather poor, and many have rather aggressive dogs (mostly pits).
The neighborhood is also poorly lit, and parents who let their kids celebrate the day generally take them
to some group event where they are safe.

Most years we never get a knock at the door, or if we do, it is a close neighbor and their kids, or
grandkids. If we do get others, it's always a good way to meet neighbors which can lead to opportunities
to share the gospel with them. My wife and I do not celebrate or participate in any Halloween functions,
as it is indeed a holiday with roots in the pagan world.

Automobile trunks! [Is that "boot" in your dialect?] — cuts down on all that walking from house to house in search of sweets. Children just walk through a church car park or field, where they can grab sugary treats from tubs in church members' automobiles.
