through Romans 9......... hone in on where he talks about verse 21. I can think of one vessel to dishonor, Pharaoh and Sodom and Gomorrah not being vessels unto honor and not repenting. Lot was only mentioned in 2nd Peter about being just and his wife an two daughters being spared from destruction, and his wife being turned into a pillar of salt. Did she have eternal life? I believe so based on Abraham pleading for Lot, his wife and two daughters. Considering the two son in laws didn't listen, they weren't spared.

one other thing I thought I would mention and it doesn't appear that this board doesn't accept Predestinations at all.

Joshua was commanded to destroyed civilizations, understandably military destruction but civilians, seemed unfair but non the less and God didn't tell Joshua to destroy all, unlike the story of Jonah to warn Ninavah to preach repentance lest they be judged. So yes God is the potter and made vessels unto dishonor.

What do you mean by: " it doesn't appear that this board doesn't accept Predestinations at all."? If it doesn't appear that this board doesn't accept predestination, do you mean that it appears that this board does accept predestination? I think it must, because I believe in the biblical teaching of predestination, and I have not been reprimanded by the moderators for saying so. I fully believe verses like these from Romans:

NKJV Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Rom 8:30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

It looks like they cater to Bapitists and as you said they reprimanded you but looks like they allow it. As much as I appreciate those verses They can be debated. There are stronger verses such as Romans 9. The late Adrian Rogers is a great teacher to the believers stand and sanctification in Christ but as for where he picked and chose verses in Romans 9 but didn't tie in key verses to Gods providence.

You seem to have misread my post. II wrote: " I have not been reprimanded by the moderators for saying so" Anyway, I am a Baptist and this the Baptist Board, so of course they cater for Baptists. However, some Baptists believe in predestination, and some don't.

ooopps sorry I missed that, just got home from work and had to take my wife to the store. Yeah I went back and forth with local baptist who has great Calvinistic friends. Unfortunately I have to attend an Independent bible church for now and they sway toward Baptist, free will and have too many evangelists that over do it at the pulpit, the last one was atrocious.

Please don't worry about it. I have all too often been guilty of misreading posts. Thanks!

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by this but it is the BAPTIST Board. If you think it is not reformed enough then start the Reformed Board.
Unregenerated or lack of Scriptural knowledge causes reformed churches. This same Preacher says, "If you're not endeavoring to bring souls to Christ, you're not right with God", "Two types of Christians, soul winners or backsliders." I just finished with a long lost half sister that I corresponded with on FB. She finally blocked me, after me continually preaching Christ and salvation among other false doctrine of the Catholic Church. What should be the frequency of how often we preach, is the question. Not all are given to evangelize.

So would you say you are Calvinist (loosely speaking or not please explain) or would you say that you are not? I don’t understand your posts when I put them together. I can’t tell where you’re coming from so I don’t know what you mean.

Would the whole household being saved because of the husbands faith kick in here? Like Cornelius in Acts?

If you mean predestination, nothing prevents members from holding various views.

If you meant "predestinations" (plural) I would think they would fall into an acceptable category.

This board neither accepts or rejects predestination (it is a Baptist board).

Many believe that God predestines to salvation. Many do not. Some (like me) hold more of an Edwardsean view. Some hold to free-will theology. Some (again, like me) are compatabilists. Others hold to a versus position.

All of these views exist within Baptist churches. Some Baptist churches segregate based on these differences. Others do not.

But the household of Cornelius was not saved because of Cornelius's faith:

NKJV Act 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
Act 10:45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.

This is drama.

We are here discussing the Word of God. Whose interpretation is going to be the final authority? Be glad you have the freedom to discuss it in at the end of the day. Recognize that not everybody will think the exact same way you do and that doesn’t make them sinners. You’re also subject to errors.

Dr. Adrian Rogers was a great preacher who happened to disagree with Calvinism and his arguments are consistent with those who disagree with the view. Both Calvinists and Non-Calvinists are represented here, are both welcome, and are both treated fairly so long as mutual respect and courtesy is maintained.

shouldn't be in error. The problem with believers is they don't compare scripture with scripture to avoid errors. Common misconception is "whosoever" is use alone to conclude of men's free will to choose Christ, when indeed Christ said you haven't chosen me but I chose you first, instead of means, any race.

He has another sermon about being chosen, but is slightly off kilter about complete sovereignty of his choosing.

And he quotes, "You wanna be saved ? All the ones you ( God ) have given to me will come to me ( Christ ). You wanna know if you're the elect or not ?..... just come to Jesus and you'll be one. No distinct knowledge of Gods Sovereign authority, just His Sovereign Grace.

Then Rogers quotes, Any one that comes to me, I will in no wise cast out. He twists scripture to suit free will.

God's Word is the final authority. That is why I said "Edwardsean".

Edwards was not the final authority. I do not believe his theology is remotely correct.
But in terms of predestination (and the predestinations you speak of) he was biblical.
