I just checked that out and found it to be true. Before his candidacy, he was serving as the director of the Wayne County Department of Health, Human, and Veterans Services. He oversaw public health initiatives for Detroit. He resigned when he announced his candidacy. After the announcement he signed a contract to be a consultant for them at $9,000 a month. The Hatch Act prevented him from being an employee while campaigning for public office. He's no longer receiving the fee because they filled the position.

Before posting anything here from X I always check GROK first to make sure it’s true. Probably 50% of the stuff on X is garbage. Lots of good memes though.
