First off, 2 Esdras on the whole wasn't Old Testament Holy Scripture. And if it was a post 70AD writing, then the supposed quote wouldn't be a true source for said quote.

John 1:1-2, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. The Word was always both the Son of God and God and the Word was to be God the Creator.

We know "the Word was God." But twice said to also be someone else "with God." John 1:1-2. And as God was the Creator, John 1:3.
