    Somber Statistics for 2025

Liberal churches are fortunately dying off. Sadly seeker sensitive churches seem to be fruitful.

    Tithing

My two cents. It's best to determine for yourself what is best, if you live your Christian life based on others you could easily fall into a legal system, rather than guided by conscience/godly conviction. I speak from experience. That may not answer your question, or be helpful.

    Tithing

The Law mandates giving, the Holy Spirit compels the heart to give. Not to sound corny or give off false piety vibes.

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

I believe I clarified my position in the thread earlier when asked by @JonC, it's available for you to go back and read. I find your last sentence quite intriguing, given your conduct on the board with others who disagree with your theological stances.

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

I guess he embraces Jws and Mormons as believers? Their denial of Christ's true identity is merely relegated to "incomprehensible truths?" Doctrinal essentials are not at odds with believing in the name of Christ.

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

Ok. So they also hold to a false gospel in the same vein as Hodges. It's really quite telling that every time faith leading to bearing fruit is mentioned you jump into the comments to fight against it tooth and nail declaring that salvation doesn't result in fruit. That is not what God, nor the...

    Westerns

This thread gave me a craving to start watching westerns. Been watching the old poverty row John Wayne movies all weekend.

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

Best I can figure his theology is fairly close to that of Zane Hodges, which is (falsely) called free grace theology. It is itself a false gospel.

John R. Rice and the KJV

Thank you John for your extensive response, it is very greatly appreciated. I know very little of John Rice, but from what you've said and small bits I've read, it seems his fundamentalism is of far greater pastoral and Christ-like love and conduct than much of modern fundamentalism is today. I...

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

Do you believe there are doctrinal essentials? If you do then by your own standard you too have your own "test to get to heaven," if not, then you simply believe nothing. None of the Apostles under the inspiration of God considered relegating doctrinal essentials to be merely conjecture, and...

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

Absolutely. There is a distinction between ignorance/incomprehension/not sure, and an outright denial/actively fighting against it.

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

I'm saying an outright denial of the Trinity is a salvation issue - God has easily made known via scripture that He is triune. Whether one understands the Trinity, or is aware of the Trinity (ignorance) is a separate matter. Oneness Pentecostals, modalists, etc. are not my brothers, they are in...

Must One hold to the Trinity in order to be saved then?

Yes it is essential. That isn't to say one has to know/understand the Trinity to be saved. But an outright denial is to deny God.
