    Refuse To Be Baptized?

Thank you for emphasizing that point. I certainly don’t want anyone to accuse me of saying that water baptism is necessary for salvation. We’re talking about willful disobedience, not out of ignorance.

    Refuse To Be Baptized?

Us Baptists understand that faith is all that is necessary to be saved. We also understand that if faith does not compel an individual to be obedient to the commands of Christ, then we might question whether or not that person is truly saved. So my question is this - Do you believe that a...

Are most Fundamental Baptists Churches KJVO then?

The 1984 version didn’t have gender neutral language, the problem is that they don’t print it anymore unlike how the NASB still sells the ‘95.

Are most Fundamental Baptists Churches KJVO then?

You’re probably right, there are many fundamentalists who will reject anything that is not the KJV. The NIV has been the best selling translation for the last 20+ years, so it has become an easy target.

was The Geneva Bible Considered superior to 1611 KJV?

There are some KJVO folks who believe that the English Bible had to be refined 7 times to get from Tyndale to the KJV. Then refined another 7 times to get from the 1611 to the 1769 Blayney revision printed in Cambridge, hence the name “Pure Cambridge Edition.”

I don’t recall it being disliked that much prior to the 2011 revision.

David and Solomon co-reigned and we know that because the Bible explicitly tells us so. Such is not the case with Jehoram and Ahaziah. You seem to think so because of a semicolon. Punctuations are not inspired and do not reveal hidden messages. That's just ridiculous.

Did you also look in the Bible to see if the information he’s giving you is accurate?

Oh, so you didn't get it from the Bible. You got it from some guy on the internet.

Yes, there are plenty of ways to make a square object fit into a round hold. If you're going to practice sola scriptura, you can't rely on outside sources or mere speculation. The modern translations have fixed this discrepancy and this one example is what lead me out of the KJVO movement.

2 Kings 8:26 - Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel. 2 Chronicles 22:2 - Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in...

Seems like you’ve bought into the heresy of “easy believism,” which is common among the Ruckman school of thought. Yes, you change your mind from unbelief to belief, but that’s not the end of the story. If your belief is genuine, you receive the Holy Spirit and it is supposed to convict you to...
