    The elect are simply people who believed the gospel of their own free will.
    God chooses to save those who choose his Son.
    And of course, John 15:16 has nothing to do with salvation and everything to do with the ministry of service.

    Jesus being the propitiation for the whole world does not mean Jesus propitiated the whole world.

    Only those placed into Christ receive the reconciliation provided by Christ's sacrificial death.

    Why must we quibble about these issues is beyond me. I realize that one's interpretation of what can be quite vague terms (Most likely [But not always intentionally!] due to one's theological viewpoints, e.g., Calvinistic vs "Non-Calvinistic." Instead of deeming a brother's/sister's opposing viewpoints as inherently heretical, IMHO doesn't seem to me to be "speaking the truth IN LOVE." Don't we who are saved have so much IN COMMON with each other to quibble over every single intricate matter (which, BTW, probably will NEVER be settled to each and every individual's satisfaction until we ALL reach heaven!!) that arises here on BB, to charge anyone who may differ in his/her interpretation(s) as being a her(him?)retic?? "When I was a child, I though like a child, but when I GREW UP, I put away CHILDISH things..." said the Apostle Paul. I would assume that everyone here on BB is now longer a child, but from the tenor of some BB posts, maybe my assumptions may need to be reassessed. "Can't we ALL just get along?"

    Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit which means only the born again can believe in Christ. The rest choose idols they call Jesus.

    No man can come to me,
    except the Father draw him:
    and I will raise him up at the last day.

    Must define what World in context really meant! As if we do not, end up with Universalism, or else "free will" Gospel!

    Faith as a fruit of the Spirit to serve God and endure trials with thankfulness and joy is one thing, faith to believe the gospel is another.
    There is faith as a gift of the Spirit after a man has already been saved:
    1Co_12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit;
    Evidently then, that kind of faith is not saving faith.

    Joy is also a fruit of the Spirit, and lost people can have joy:
    Pro_15:21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

    Two kinds of joys, two kinds of faith. (Heb.4:12)
