Why are you beating yourself up? There are three feast days involved with death, burial, and resurrection. They are:
1 Passover - April 14 - Pictures the death of Christ - Friday - Day 1
2 Unleavened Bread - April 15 - Pictures the burial where there was no corruption of his body - Saturday - Day 2
3 Firstfruits - April 16 - Pictures Resurrection of Christ plus others. - Sunday - Day 3
Festival

The sabbath was a high day because the dates aligned this year with the week days, I think.

Jn 12:1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

I am not defending this position because I prefer it. This is the only way all pieces fit.

Do Baptists in general believe that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week?
And all of my years prior to the 21st centuries the majority of Baptist ministers taught the crucifixion took place on the 6th day on the Roman calendar and that would be a Friday.

It has always puzzled me how it could be understood and believed Christ spent three days and three nights in the grave and crucified on the 6th day rising on the first day.

Even going by the ancient Jewish views that the day started at dusk that would be two days.

Not only the Baptist Church but the majority of the denominations thoughts and teach the 6th day crucifixion.

Here is my understanding of what he said.

"FYI, the Sabbath ended Saturday at sundown.
And Saturday at sundown is the beginning of the 1st day of the week."

I am not sure anyone would disagree with that statement.
I was referring to his comment in post #53, "At midnight of the 1st day of the week Saturday then becpmes Sunday."

The topic is not asking about when the crucifixion took place.

As I said earlier, the title was poorly conceived with regard to the intent of the topic. It was clarified in the first post. The topic is directed to those who believe in a 6th day of week crucifixion and have an explanation for the lack of a third night.

And now that I think about it, there would also be a lack of a 3rd daytime.

A 6th day crucifixion is not Biblically true.
What date do you think is Biblical?

You need to compare the prophetic theme of "the day of the LORD" from the scriptures and if you have eyes to then see
You don't want to have eyes to see what the Lord never put there, even in your mind.
some glorious truths will come to light for you
Light without the Word to go with it?
and you will be able to see God's viewpoint much more clearly.
See the Mind of God that you know all about, now, huh?
The whole day of the LORD is symbolic of the sabbath of the Lord.
Not the way you fabricate it out of nowhere to be.
I have personally posted much on these threads about the day of the Lord and so far I have not had the first person that I can remember to say they believe the doctrine the way the Bible lays it out, especially you.
Because it doesn't and your posts on it are a waste.
Those Jews knew what "that day" meant.
What you say they "knew" is not taught in the passage you quoted, nor anywhere else. You know that.

It's not in the Bible anywhere about "THAT DAY = the Lord's Sabbath = the millennial day."
Take a look at THAT DAY, the Lord's Sabbath, the millennial day,
Look all you want, "THAT DAY" = "the Lord's Sabbath" = "the millennial day" is not anywhere in these verses:
Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make [men] go over dryshod.
16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
1 And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
2 Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation.
I'm straying from the O.P. here too, but this is just a very straightforward blasphemous statement:
Israel is going through the same suffering that Jesus went through on crucifixion week and will be purified from her sins through the fiery judgement and be eternally righteous.
Israel better go through understanding that Jesus Trod out the Winepress Alone and no one could ever suggest "Israel is going through the same suffering that Jesus went through on crucifixion week" Jesus Suffering Killed Him.

Nor is it rational to say Israel "will be purified from her sins through the fiery judgement and be eternally righteous."
Israel needs a Savior for their sins and them getting "the fiery judgement" does not possibly amount to anything that could result for them to "be eternally righteous", since Jesus is the One Who Obtained Eternal Righteousness, by His Virgin Birth, His Perfect Life as a Perfect Sacrifice, and Jesus' death, burial, and Resurrection.

You are equating Jesus too closely, or as being the same as, Israel, which demands Repentance, I believe..

More straying....:Cautious
Mark 14:12-17 establish a likely date.
12; "And the first day of unleavened bread, (this is the first day of the 'festival' of unleaven bread, not intending to say it is the first day of the official Feast, or 7 Days, of Unleavened Bread, and I put this day at Nisan 14, on a Wednesday, just right after our Tuesday at 6 pm., when the Jewish Wednesday begins")

"when they killed the passover, (the passover lambs were killed on the Preparation Day, Wednesday Nisan 14, in preperation for the Annual High Sabbath, which would take place on Thursday, Nisan 15.)

his disciples said unto Him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
(The disciples were wanting to plan for their Passover being eaten on our Tuesday evening around 9 pm., 3 or so hours after the Jewish Wednesday had begun at 6 pm.)

13; "And He sendeth forth two of His disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14; "And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples? 15; "And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. 16; "And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover." (BUT JESUS HAD ALREADY SET UP PLANS FOR THE DIVINE INSTITUTION OF THE LORD'S SUPPER; //sorry caps, I just left them there//. They ate it around 9 pm on our Tuesday night and the Jew's Wednesday, before Jesus Betrayal, and Court appearances through the night, and crucifixion the following morning, which is still the Jew's Wednesday.)
As well as Mark 15:42.
42; "And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,"
( it was still Wednesday in their evening, the Preparation Day, before 6 pm., before the Thursday, Nisan 15, Annual High Sabbath began, the second Sabbath in that week.).

@Alan Dale Gross,
The Nisan the 14th is not necessarily on a Friday or a Wednesday. It depends on it's year the date occurs.
Right.

THOUGHT THIS IS A COOL QUOTE FOR WHAT WE DO.

"Believers have “the mind of Christ,” (1 Cor. 2:16), and they are to utilize it in their daily lives – and, in particular, says Peter, in their apologetics. When one spells this out in plain terms, it means that Christians must not abandon their Bibles at the crucial moment when their Faith is assailed. Instead, they are to assert confidently and intelligently the Biblical perspective about God, about man, and about the fallen world in which we live.

"What is called “Presuppositional” Apologetics attempts to do just that. It does not ask the Christian to step backwards in time and employ his unsanctified reason, and then to argue back to God. It refuses to re-enter the darkness of unbelieving thinking, and to grant that somehow “man by searching” can now “find out God.” (cf. Job 11:7).

"Rather, it picks up the light of the Creator (cf. Psa. 36:9b; Matt. 5:14-16; Eph. 5:8), and shines it upon the unbeliever’s rebellious heart, showing him the truth about his rebellion and his sinning against his better knowledge. Thus, presuppositional-ism takes a self-consciously theological approach to the defense of the truth of Christianity. "

...

These guys have a wealth of information on the different Sabbaths that take place.

This page shows all about the Wednesday/Friday stuff halfway down; then it talks about it being OK to do some things on the Sabbath.
