Why are you beating yourself up? There are three feast days involved with death, burial, and resurrection. They are:
1 Passover - April 14 - Pictures the death of Christ - Friday - Day 1
2 Unleavened Bread - April 15 - Pictures the burial where there was no corruption of his body - Saturday - Day 2
3 Firstfruits - April 16 - Pictures Resurrection of Christ plus others. - Sunday - Day 3

The sabbath was a high day because the dates aligned this year with the week days, I think.

Jn 12:1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

I am not defending this position because I prefer it. This is the only way all pieces fit.

Do Baptists in general believe that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week?

And all of my years prior to the 21st centuries the majority of Baptist ministers taught the crucifixion took place on the 6th day on the Roman calendar and that would be a Friday.

It has always puzzled me how it could be understood and believed Christ spent three days and three nights in the grave and crucified on the 6th day rising on the first day.

Even going by the ancient Jewish views that the day started at dusk that would be two days.

Not only the Baptist Church but the majority of the denominations thoughts and teach the 6th day crucifixion.

Here is my understanding of what he said.

"FYI, the Sabbath ended Saturday at sundown.
And Saturday at sundown is the beginning of the 1st day of the week."

I am not sure anyone would disagree with that statement.

I was referring to his comment in post #53, "At midnight of the 1st day of the week Saturday then becpmes Sunday."

The topic is not asking about when the crucifixion took place.

As I said earlier, the title was poorly conceived with regard to the intent of the topic. It was clarified in the first post. The topic is directed to those who believe in a 6th day of week crucifixion and have an explanation for the lack of a third night.

And now that I think about it, there would also be a lack of a 3rd daytime.

A 6th day crucifixion is not Biblically true.
