Oh no it has been 7 days and God must be on vacation or stopped working [IMG]

JUST KIDDING!! He has done wonderful things here and continues to work in my families life as we get closer to my medical review and closer to the possibility of getting out by Sept. The Lord has opened some good communication with Churches that are looking to hire an Associate Pastor so we are praying for God to close and open doors and it is exciting to be watching all of this happening!! :D

Have been praying for you and your family. God is working isn't He!

The Lord has been keeping me really busy lately. Remember a few posts back when I said the Lord was feeding this sparrow? Well, now this sparrow is feeding a baby squirrel.

A neighbor cut down and was burning on old tree and didn't realize it was home to a baby squirrel. Well, this neighbor brought it to our house (yes, I love critters of all kinds) so it is keeping me really busy. It is very tiny, is just begining to get fur, eyes are still closed and ears haven't unfolded yet. It is probably about 3 weeks old. It was so small I had my doubts as to whether he would make it or not but he is doing really well. He needs to be bottle fed quite often and then have to make it go to the bathroom, keep it warm etc.

I love this kind of task and of course my kids want to hold it all the time.

Through it I have been reminded of how helpless I am without the Lord. This squirrel is utterly helpless without my care. So am I utterly helpless without the care of my loving Father. God has a lesson in everthing.

So lately, God has been teaching me through a squirrel.

Oh, Samarelda! I raised a baby squirrel, too! It was so much fun. We bottle fed it, and it became the best pet we ever had.

My kids loved it, too. We all took turns feeding her, and my son (about 7 or 8 at the time) carried her around in a fanny pack everywhere we went. That way, we could go about our day and feed her when necessary.

Isn't it wonderful that God uses things like this to teach us things? [IMG]

Today I got a letter in the mail saying that my daughter has been accpted to the Christian school that we applied for and have been praying she could attend.

Here in Utah there are not many Christian schools and space is limited. It was a long shot for her to get in and we were praying for this oppertunity for her. Now that she is in, her brother has first chance at a spot in a couple of years.

I just wanted to publicly thank the Lord for this blessing he has given my family.

I don't know what God is doing in my life. I just got let go from a roofing job. It was like the last thing I could have imagined because it was an AWESOME chance to fellowship with other good Christians away from church and NOT have to worry about temptations and whatnot. God's ways aren't ours, I guess that goes for jobs too. I just thought it was a really good chance to strengthen my walk and edify others. And make good money for a change!!!! I don't understand it, but praise God anyway.

No, I completely understand what He's doing. God changed my younger brothers heart 2 days ago. My boss on the roofing job found a much more experianced guy who's a JW so he can get great work AND relay to him the TRUTH. Also I got a call yesterday afternoon for an interview for a job I applied for 2 months ago. So praise and glory to God because He knew all along what was best for me and my brother and all involved. He wokred it all out and let me fret for a bit. Thank God that He is faithful even when we have half a mustard seed worth of faith.

God has given our family a time of quiet and peace right now. The last several months have been such a storm that the stillness we are experiencing now is very sweet. My husband has work galore now but it does take time to get caught up when you are so far behind. The anonymous gift we received (or the money from Heaven as our children call it) made all the difference for us. I believe it kept our heads above water. So thankful.

It is my spiritual birthday today and I am so grateful that the Lord saved me as a little girl of 9. April 19, 1970--so it has been 36 years! The Lord has always been faithful. He has never let me down although I have gone through difficult times. During those times He was so close to me. I cannot imagine living in this wretched world without my Saviour.

The Lord has also been telling me I have been spending too much time on this BB. It is a good place to be, but not when it causes me to neglect better things. So I have not been here much at all lately. I pray for you all during the day as you come to my mind, but I only visit a couple of times a week now. It is better.

Anyway, I am glad for this interlude the Lord has given us. It is refreshing.

Hi, Samarelda! How's the baby squirrel?

Our family is going thru enormous changes right now. We are seeking His wisdom in all the huge decisions to be made in the near future.

Glad you are enjoying peace right now. Praise the Lord!

    Hi Gwen,

The baby squirrel was doing great and then Saturday evening his breathing seemed a little stressed. By Sunday morning we knew he was not going to make it and he died just before we left for church. We all cried. It was so sad. I have no idea what went wrong. Maybe he got some milk in his lungs from the way he nursed on the bottle? I just don't know. He was very small. He had just gotten some fur and I guessed his age to be about 3 weeks. Maybe he was just too little. I am still sad about it. He is buried in our "grave garden" along with other pets who have passed on.

I will be praying for you and the decisions and changes you are about to face. Change is often difficult and decisions can be too. Aren't you glad we have a God who knows what He is doing even when we don't?

    Hi Samarelda,

Oh, the poor little thing! I'm so sorry! I guess they just need their mama when they are tiny. We got our baby squirrel when she was about 4 weeks old, so she was quite a bit older than yours, and had a better chance of survival. When we got her, she had fur, but eyes were still closed.

Thank you for your prayers. Change is difficult, but God has a plan for us, and His way is perfect. We are trusting Him during this time. [IMG]

May 10th is my medical evaluation and time for the Marine Corps to decide if they will medically retire me or keep me in for further care. I'm praying for the Lord to close this door and let me get into full-time service this summer. I have received a couple of job offers but until May 10th I can't follow-up with them yet...so sort of like being in limbo.....is this purgatory?? ;) [IMG]

I'm excited to see how the Lord has answered so many prayers and will share the long testimony once all things are completed. It is truly a testimony for the Lord and for His goodness!

What is God doing in your life?

For probably the last two weeks the Lord has been showing my just how great it is to be a full time, stay-at-home, home school mom. I am so glad to spend so much time with my kids. To see them growing spiritually is such a blessing. Last week a couple of neighbor boys came over to play with them and my girls were so excited because they had an opportunity to witness to them. Besides giving them the plan of salvation, they also discussed evolution vs creation with them. These boy believe in evolution and my 12 year old told them that evolution was "highly illogical". It just thrilled my heart to see them boldly proclaiming Jesus Christ with no hint of embarassment or shame.

Last week also my 7 year old (finally) learned how to ride his bike. His sisters were helping him. As I was watching out my kitchen window I saw the three of them bow their heads each time just before Samuel pushed off. They were asking the Lord to help Samuel. Their faith shamed me.

Today, the kids and I spent an hour laying on the floor watching our hamster in his huge aquarium. We laughed and enjoyed it and each other so much. I don't remember the last time I took an hour just to do something so trivial.

Some days it seems like everything I do is so unimportant--endless, often mindless work. But these and other incidences of the last couple of weeks have made me happy to be a keeper at home. God's gentle way of reminding my of just how rich and blessed I really am.

Well, the Lord is closing doors for me in the military...AMEN!

6 months ago when I (finally) surrendered to full-time service and told the Lord that I would get out once my contract is over in Dec 2007 little did I know I would be facing a Medical Discharge, Disability rating and an early out. I'm excited because I've been chomping at the bit to get out and serve the Lord and now I'll be able to do that and do it sooner rather than later. I'm at 12 yrs in the Marine Corps and 17 yrs overall and so a few years shy of retirement but the Lord is working all of this out with this disability and the long-term benefits from it. Funny how with my injury I can't function in many jobs but serving in the ministry has little bearing to my injury (or vice versa). When I surrendered I prayed that God would:
    1. 'convince' my wife (not me try to talk her into it)
    2. open a door for employment before my contract ended
    3. close the door of the military to remove all possible future regrets

Well, he has 'convinced' my wife who has enthusiastically surrendered as well. He has given me an ideal transitional job that will let me finish my last year of school and 'learn the ropes'...and he opened this door about a month ago. He has finally closed the door and instead of waiting the Lord is allowing me to get out and serve right away. While I have 'lost' my 50% retirement I have picked up 60% disability which will provide about the same money but more medical care and education benefits for both myself and my family. THE LORD IS GOOD!!

PS. My injury? In 2004 I suffered a severe break in my left wrist and compressed my left elbow and suffered nerve damage. The breaks have healed but the nerve damage has persisted. I had surgery Jan 2006 which took my Ulnar nerve (funny bone) and moved it from under the elbow to on top of the elbow (no more funny bone ;) ) and so I have the same nerve damage except my elbow hurts more ( :D ). The nerve damage consists of no sensation in my ring/pinky fingers on left hand; no sensation in my left palm; no feeling in my left forearm; no feeling in my left elbow; no grip strength in left hand; constant, sporadic, painful 'firings' of the nerve; have consistent spasms/seizures in my left arm; unable to lift more than 20-25 lbs on left arm, and a few other sundry issues [IMG] But thankfully the issues are not affecting any other nerve areas or the brain and the pain is mostly handled with Tylenol 3 and not the heavy pain meds that limit functioning plus I have nearly 95% range of motion of the arm. Though mostly my golfing stinks (still) my putting has dramatically improved ;)

Praise the Lord, MRCoon! Your answers to prayer are exciting. May the Lord greatly use you in His work. [IMG] [IMG]

As for the injury, maybe the Lord just wants you to quit elbowing your wife during the sermon. No more, "Remember that, honey, he's talkin' to you!" [IMG]

Actually that is covered under my sundry other injuries...which would be the broken ribs I suffer from thanks to my wife elbowing me [IMG]

I'm hoping to hang out long enough to have coffee with you in Aug/Sept timeframe as we talked about. We'll see what happens ;)
