    Sister Sherrie!! You see!! It will work! The tractor parts counter, that is!! I knew the minute that Ninety Nine gave a clue, "Hmmmmmmmmm!" that I can swing the rest of Canada my way--they grow lots and lots of wheat up there and need good dependable parts---and then JonMagee says that he "honestly" cares!! Or am I takin' Jon's words "out of context?"

    But all in all, if I can get somebody with the charactor of Ninety-Nine to "think about it" for a little bit . . .! And then get the "Who's Who" of the other side of the globe to "honestly" care--I'm on the downhill side of home!!

    By the way, readers!! What'd the preacher preach on today??? We had a Gideon speaker--so ole Blackbird didn't get to preach---missed it so bad--but next week's Sunday mornin' sermon is titled, "Here Comes the Judge!" text in Matthew 7: 1-4. Probably one of the most misunderstood verses of scripture in the Bible. You've heard folks say something like, "WEEEEEEEEEELL, God says we can't judge!" But that isn't what these verses are saying! We're gonna look at this next Sunday morning. Probably one of the most difficult passages of scripture to expound upon and explain---pray for Brother David! He needs your prayers more than you are led to believe!!

    Your Southern Baptist preachin', tractor parts thinkin' buddy,
    Blackbird

    Blackbird...i'm sure Jim must know of some regulation which prevents you from having a tractor parts counter...lol. Why don't you just set up a counter in the barn where you keep your tractor...i'm sure it would make more sense. [IMG]

    This morning we had three baptisms in Church and the text was taken from Acts 9:1-19 and this evening the text was taken from Esther 7, but I can't remember exactly what the teaching was about. The evening teaching was about God being in control I think.

    Blessings

    Followin' Him!

    See?? Jim is in deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, deeeeeeeeeeeep thought about that tractor parts counter! I make up the rules--you can't come in with chewin' tobacco in your mouth nor with a lighted cigarette! No cussin' nor swearin' when Blackbird doesn't have your "name brand" part or bearing!! My waitress is standin' over there waitin' to back Blackbird up! Of course, this'll mean a change in the shop's "Constitution and By-Laws"--but nothin' that'll demand an emergency meeting!!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

    Hey Everyone! I survived the Fishing Derby!

    [IMG]

    Stephen was so anxious we went to the pond an hour early to register! It's a good thing we did. The rod & reel that Grandpa had fixed for us to take....wasn't fixed. :mad:

    It took me 20 minutes to take the reel apart and untangle the line. Then another 10 minutes to put the spinner, weight and hook on. Another 15 minutes to find us a 'good' spot and get everything out of the trunk of the car (cooler with pop, tackle box, net, lawn chairs, camera, food etc.). The last 15 minutes of the hour was spent in trying to teach Stephen how to cast...it didn't work so they allowed me to cast for him.

    Blackbird: That "Power Bait" sure works good. Now, HOW DO I GET THE SMELL OUT OF MY LIFE? That is the wickedest smell in the world. My grandson even asked me to sit downwind from him!!! [IMG]

    To make a long story short, we fished for four hours in the wind AND the rain! Stephen missed winning the biggest fish in his age class by one inch! He caught six Catfish in all, the biggest being 24 inches long!

    The first 30 minutes he caught nothing and was ready to admit he was not a fisherman. When he caught his first fish (18 1/2" long), he decided he was a natural. :rolleyes:

    All the fish were thrown back in so I didn't have to worry about how to get them home. Stephen didn't come home with any fish, but we took a picture and the picture weighed three pounds! [IMG]

    I will post the pictures on the web when I get them developed so anyone wanting to see us and 'our' fish may do so. I'm sure gonna look different than I do in my BB picture! I got soaked twice from the rain and almost ended up in the pond! I'm surprised I didn't scare the fish away! Stephen won a Sportsmans Club t-shirt and baseball cap to match.

    D.A.R.E was there giving away free hotdogs and cokes. I had brought chips and cookies. Of course, I couldn't eat ANYTHING because there was no place to wash my hands and that "Power Bait" smell just about did me in. I couldn't get rid of it...I held my hands down at my sides for four hours unless I was rebaiting and casting! :eek: I sure wasn't going to eat anything that smelled like that!

    We were there five hours total and we had a great time...we were worn to a frazzle when we got home. I took a shower, Stephen took a Mr. Bubble bath and we both collapsed into bed. I dreamt of 'stinky hands'. [IMG]

    Thanks for all the good advice and wishes. Next month I'm going to be REAL brave and take FOUR of my grandsons fishing at the same time (three nine-year-olds and an eight-year-old)! [IMG]

    Sue
    The happy fishwife, er, I meant fisherwoman!

    The Rev'd James, P, PP, PPP,
    SAFE, Inc

    Now, it has come to my attention that one, purported member, in good standing, of the afe is promoting the sale of parts for those gas and diesel guzzling monsters that are perpetually polluting our purified air that we must wear pepetual polluted air prevention masks.

    As, President, Ppast President and Presiding Past President of SAFE, I am asked to compromise wot we stand for. I am calling for a vote of the membership forthwith.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    I don't know, Jim, about tractor parts. I would like something more "useful" like crafts, dolls, toys, lace tablecloths. What you say girls? We should have at least a corner with pretty "stuff".

    I'll vote for tractor parts if we can have a corner for crafts. Katie makes dolls. I paint pictures. Sue can probably make fish mobiles. Sherrie maybe too busy running the place. Laurenda will help.

    You can have my vote if we can compromise.

    Blackbird....

    One does NOT chew tobacco, smoke cigarettes, cuss or swear... [IMG]

    Neither does one like the idea of dirty, smelly greasy tractor parts anywhere near the vicinity of the Coffee Shop. LOL. :eek:

    There are rules and regulations and standards to be kept... and maintained. Could you not start up a farm shop instead? That sounds much more civillised :D

    Church...yes, three baptisms today Praise the Lord. One, a woman in her 30's and two were men in there 40's. Earlier in the year we had a man of 82 I think baptised and he is full to overflowing with the joy of the Lord. And some answered the call at the end of the service, but i didn't see how many...maybe four or five.

    Blessings

    P.S. don't forget...Farm Shop far more attractive than tractor parts [IMG]

    Well if that wasn't the sweetest thing to do. I've added it to my favorites file. I appreciate this so much Kate. Thank you. I'll try to use it on my longer posts especially.

    I didn't think my spelling was that bad until Diane posted my entire post correcting it. That was an eye opener. :eek: I was so embarrassed. And here all along I thought I was a competent speller. Well, on the bright side, I didn't misspell any of the longer harder words, just the little ones . [IMG]

    So, are we okay now? Am I forgiven for teasing you about mispelling the word THE? I've been punished, and I've repented of my sin.

    I know I said I was going to really try not to edit. But I can't. I'm a perfectionist. I just can't let poor grammer or sentence structure go unfixed. :rolleyes:

    Laurenda, well I wouldn't let spelling embarres me, I do it all the time. I also don't type well and always hit wrong keys. Someoen posted a spell checker here a month or so ago, but I lost it when I was working on my computer. So I looked for one today, we aren't all perfect spellers.

    Thankful,
    Hey yah, I'm all for the girls cornor in the tractor parts shop, after have to have something for the wives while hubby is tractor part shopping. And you know men, it could take hours.

    Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
    Words by Helen H. Lemmel 1922

    O soul are you weary and troubled?
    No light in the darkness you see?
    There's light for a look at the Saviour,
    And life more abundant and free.

    Refrain
    Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
    Look full in His wonderful face,
    And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
    In the light of His Glory and Grace.
    Through death into life everlasting
    He passed, and we follow Him there;
    Over us sin no more hath dominion -
    For more than conquerors we are!

    Refrain
    Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
    Look full in His wonderful face,
    And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
    In the light of His Glory and Grace.
    His Word shall not fail you - He promised;
    Believe Him, and all will be well;
    Then go to a world that is dying,
    His perfect salvation to tell.

    Refrain
    Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
    Look full in His wonderful face,
    And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
    In the light of His Glory and Grace.

    I can't see anything else when I see Jesus.

    JESUS, LOVER OF MY SOUL

    Charles Wesley

    Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly,
    While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high.
    Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past;
    Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.

    Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
    Leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.
    All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring;
    Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing.

    Wilt Thou not regard my call? Wilt Thou not accept my prayer?
    Lo! I sink, I faint, I fall—Lo! on Thee I cast my care;
    Reach me out Thy gracious hand! While I of Thy strength receive,
    Hoping against hope I stand, dying, and behold, I live.

    Thou, O Christ, art all I want, more than all in Thee I find;
    Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind.
    Just and holy is Thy Name, I am all unrighteousness;
    False and full of sin I am; Thou art full of truth and grace.

    Plenteous grace with Thee is found, grace to cover all my sin;
    Let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within.
    Thou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of Thee;
    Spring Thou up within my heart; rise to all eternity.

    Forgive me Lord when I have sinned, keep me safe in your bosom that no man/woman would tempt me, that I might stumble, and fall. Hide me in your secret place. In your name Jesus I pray. Amen

    And a wagon wheel with daisies growing near it would be could for that part against the wall. [IMG]

    Yes, I thought you would like that. Since you are so good at painting, I reserved you a table over by the window, and I have set up a booth for you to show your work.

    I've heard that dandelions are hard to keep in line and they spread only to take over. But, I'm sure if you were to paint a few and not plant them, we could keep them in check.

    I have some old metal tin signs that you may use to hang here and there if you would like. An old juke box would be nice.

    Thank you Gib...that would be great...do you have a hammer and some nails to hang them? The things you want to paint, set over by the window for Thankful.

    Do you know where we can get a Jude Box?

    This place is starting to shape up fine.

    S.A.F.E is promoting the removal of all tractors from planet earth and the restoration of horses. How about another corner for horse harness and such. By the way, S.A.F.E stands for The Society for the Abolition of Fumes-Spewing Engines.

    Cheers pardners, as I ride off into the moonlit sky and into the bunkhouse.

    Jim

    Happy trails to you,
    Until we meet again,
    Happy trails to you,
    Keep smiling until then.............

    Can we decorate the wall with them? We have a restaurant here in our area...well in Sikeston...Lamberts - home of the throwed rolls, and they have this stuff all over their walls, along with license plates from all over.
