Is it okay to use the NKJV?

Another reason I feel sorry for you. BTW I learned to fetch a compass when forgot mine in the tent out deer hunting. Some northern Minnesota woods were death-traps for a fellow like me that went around in circles most of the time.

    Hey everyone

Easiest way is to join a Baptist church. If you know of one in your area, ask to visit with the pastor for 10-minutes to learn about the church. (I would be happy to recommend a church in your area if you pm me the city) They will want to be sure you are born-again by grace (not works or...

Is it okay to use the NKJV?

Excellent. Since 99.9% of people assume they understand what "fetching a compass" meant to sailors, they would not even think to do a tedious search for other OT references to the phrase.

Harm of following "Free Grace" Theology

I see the underemphasis on FAITH that makes salvation nothing more than saying "I believe" in Jesus can lead to false salvation, the easy believism. But also agree that the overemphasis on "Lordship" salvation can focus on works and that can lead to a false salvation. The middle ground of REAL...

Harm of following "Free Grace" Theology

Grudem (general summary) continues that such "Free Grace" gives many professing Christians a false assurance of salvation by promoting a faith that is dead - not including repentance, good works, and continuing in belie Faith his historically included: knowledge (notitia) assent (assensus)...

Harm of following "Free Grace" Theology

Grudem's theological works were mentioned, so here is quick summary of his first chapters: So-called "Free Grace" theology doesn’t accurately reflect the Reformation teaching of justification by faith alone, which was often summarized in the formula “We are justified by faith alone, but the...

Harm of following "Free Grace" Theology

Our missionary to Japan decades ago said the biggest issue with presenting the Gospel there is that people will BELIEVE in Jesus as Savior but not repent and cast aside their other gods (Shinto, ancestors, et al) Faith in Jesus as Savior is NOT identical with true holy Spirit induced...

Harm of following "Free Grace" Theology

On an unrelated thread the question was asked me, "Do you hold to Free Grace theology?" We all love the gospel and seek honestly to understand God's grace and what faith involves. But a movement a couple decades back pushed "Free Grace". I thought, "If it isn't FREE, it isn't GRACE". But sadly...

    Hey everyone

As a non-Baptist, you can READ discussions in "Baptist-only" but not participate. All the "Other Christian" forums are open - BUT they will contain a large variety of thought. Some "Christian" in name only and are not born again. Just be aware of that. Not all the answers there will be...

    Homeschooling Pro & Con 2

My kids were in high quality Christian School (individualized ACE style academics, tremendous social activities ) thru 7th grade, then I homeschooled them thru graduation. So many benefits, but a challenge to them was being in a classroom setting in college - they did not know that format...

    USA National Debt Clock

Wait. You're talking like actual WORK to EARN a check? Unfair!!

How do Fundamental Baptists view other Baptists then?

GARBC is an association of independent churches with zero "control". Voluntary. No demand. Maybe a loose fellowship in the state or support of colleges/seminaries. SBC is a convention of independent churches with slightly different aspects of "control". Strong bureaucratic hierarchy. Strong...

Did you know this about the Great Wall of China?

Interesting. I've walked a section of the Great Wall at Badaling northwest of Beijing. Historical "feeling" to be on it!

Glad to have you back after your sojourn in Egypt . . . :)

Is it okay to use the NKJV?

Thank you for this action. That poster has used other names in the past and each time when discovered has been "given the bum's rush" out the door.

John R. Rice and the KJV

He believed and taught an "easy-believism" of simple faith without repentance or much understanding. 1-2-3 pray after me. Zeal without knowledge. Thousands "think" they will go to heaven because of raising a hand, walking an aisle, or spouting magic words.

How many dots do you see?

Ok. Tricky but I like it

How many dots do you see?

Proof of the pudding is in the tasting. You can show me later. I counted 12 dots and 1 word that spelled dots but didn't contain a dot. That's what I saw. I'm stickin' to it, mainly because I'm too old to change :)

is there such a thing as a 'Baptist Eschatology" Church statement of belief?

I am a historic particular (reformed) fundamental Baptist and am so pre-trib and pre-mill that I won't eat Post Toasties. For that matter, I'm so opposed to ecumenical "evangelism" that I don't eat Graham crackers, either. :) :)
