Who can attend the church Christian Day School

Thanks. That makes sense, even though I still find it hard to imagine a parent wanting his children to a school based on beliefs so different to his own. Perhaps his Mormon beliefs were not strong. Thanks again for explaining.

Who can attend the church Christian Day School

I find it strange that a Mormon would even want his children educated in a Christian school. Certainly I as a Christian would never for a moment even considered sending my children to a school run by Mormons or any other cult.

    Number 666 explained

How does that work? Six hundred is written: 600. Threescore is three times twenty, so that is 60. Six is obviously 6. 600 + 60 + 6 = 666, not 313. (I suppose the answer might be in your "Prerequisite Understanding" link, but when I clicked on it, I got an error message: "Oops! We ran into...

    Who is a Calvinist?

But Paul wrote: “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.” (Ro 10:12 NKJV) “9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new [man] who is renewed in knowledge...

Matthew 25:41. The fallen Angels are not Redeemed.

Agreed. I have not seen anybody suggest that fallen angels are redeemed. Perhaps you have, and that is your reason for this thread.

    Philippians 4:13

Thanks. Indeed, it seems less than 2%, because you said that only some of 2% omit "Christ."

    One baptism?

    Sorry, could you try resending or editing your post? I am sure I am not the only one with no idea what the part starting: "0 00 0 ã ãã ã Æ ÆÆ Æ " "" " 5 55 5 4 44 4 g gg g * ** * î îî î E EE E F FF F G GG G N NN N Å ÅÅ Å ½ ½½" means.

    Philippians 4:13

Just checking....when you say, "Some of only 2% Greek New Testament mss" do you mean (as it seems to me you mean) that less than 2% of Greek manuscripts omit "Christ"?

    Questions

We are not told either when the devil was created or when he fell. We are not told, as far as I know, but unless there is only one sinner sinning at any time, he must be, at least to the extent that he can tempt people all around the world. If we don't know when he was created, or when he...

    Planting a church by Faith

Here in the UK it would be an unusually-large church!

Now the People of God, Now Have Obtained Mercy

Calvinists believe that faith is a gift from God, (not at all sure why you say that I "continue to deny the gift of faith). Faith is not something which has its source in the sinner themselves. For example, the Westminster Confession of Faith says: "I. The grace of faith, whereby the elect...

Now the People of God, Now Have Obtained Mercy

As you say, your actual words were: " The claim that the faith of a lost person merits salvation is the spawn of Satan, and promulgated by Calvinists." How does that differ from my "Sorry but I was responding to your post, where you stated that Calvinists believe that faith merits salvation?"...

Now the People of God, Now Have Obtained Mercy

Sorry but I was responding to your post, where you stated that Calvinists believe that faith merits salvation. I responded to say that Calvinists do not believe that. How is that changing the subject?

Now the People of God, Now Have Obtained Mercy

Calvinists (at least, those I have come across) do not believe that any sinner merits salvation. That is why we need a sinless Saviour. It is His merits that save us, not our own. As Paul wrote to the Christians at Ephesus: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works...

The Absolute Sovereignty of God? Where did this doctrine come from?

Yes, and praise God, it is a sure and certain hope, unlike when we say, "I hope it won't rain tomorrow."

The Absolute Sovereignty of God? Where did this doctrine come from?

God doesn't offer any hope to those who continue to refuse to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Absolute Sovereignty of God? Where did this doctrine come from?

Of ourselves, yes we are. When we do, it is not because we are better, more sensible, or have a higher IQ then those who don't, but because God has enabled us to do so. As to your "no hope" scenario, there definitely is hope: “1 ¶ Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace...

The Absolute Sovereignty of God? Where did this doctrine come from?

When God created Adam and Eve, their wills were indeed free. Since their fall into sin, they and their descendants became slaves of sin. It takes an act of the sovereign God to free them. The fact that Adam and Eve could choose to obey God or not to obey Him took nothing from God's sovereignty.

Calvinism Made Me Doubt My Salvation

Thanks! I can assure you they are not all like that.
