How Can Man Be Just With God? God Found a Ransom!

That has been disputed for 500 years.

How Can Man Be Just With God? God Found a Ransom!

The Baptists are a mixed bag, shake up the bag and there's no telling what may fall out.

How Can Man Be Just With God? God Found a Ransom!

The 5 points are the 5 points regardless if they came from Mr. Calvin or Mr. Gill. But I can understand why some don't want to be associated with the Calvin brand. I'm a Baptist and I don't appreciate being associated with the Reformed brand.

How Can Man Be Just With God? God Found a Ransom!

Yes, I agree with Mr. Gill at face value in the OP, where you would never know that he's a Calvinist. He doesn't believe the "world" is actually the world, but the Calvinist has no choice but to believe that, the theory falls apart if they don't see it that way. John said that Christ is not...

How Can Man Be Just With God? God Found a Ransom!

Ken, what do you think Mr. Gill was suggesting when he said, "God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself?" I agree with Mr. Gill, but what do you think he means by that statement?

    Does Free Will Limit God?

I should have welcomed you to the boards, better late than never! Welcome to the boards, friend. No He can't save those who reject His Son. God placed Laws into effect that must be honored by all of creation, even God Himself. The Law of sin and death and the Law of the Spirit of Life in...

    Interchangeable words, or confused meanings?

We disagree, and since you will always offer up a complaint about someone treating you unfairly when the disagreement takes place, I'm out or this conversation.

    Does Free Will Limit God?

That would depend on whether God want's robots or free will agents to love and worship Him.

New: Iran Folds Like a Wash-and-Wear Suit, Starts Begging for a Ceasefire

I wouldn't go that far. Trump is known in several situations to say things that prepare the intersection before he gets there. You could call them lies, or you could call it wisely using executive power.

New: Iran Folds Like a Wash-and-Wear Suit, Starts Begging for a Ceasefire

It's for sure Trump can't put boots on the ground in this conflict without Congress. But I can't see it getting anywhere near that as long as Israel is engaged.

    The True Gospel Preacher

"Whose heart the Lord opened that she...," yes, that is correct, God had already opened her heart before she heard the words of Paul. God had already prepared her for the words of Paul. Just as Cornelius was prepared before he heard the words of Peter. God had already set the meeting for them...

    The True Gospel Preacher

Do you think Lydia's heart could have been opened if she had rejected the Gospel Paul preached? We see this as Lydia with a positive response to what Paul said, and the Lord granted her permission to "attend to the things which were spoken of Paul." In other words, she gave her heart to Christ...

    The True Gospel Preacher

Most of us free-willers see the "Draw" as the spreading of the Gospel. the Holy Spirit acts on the given Gospel to the individual and draws man, penetrating the heart and soul with truth. Then we see man having a choice to accept or reject that draw. How exactly do you see the "Draw" taking place?

Same old Van, screaming bloody murder when he is doubted. I wouldn't be able to correct something that you hadn't posted, whether you see it as off topic or not.

New: Iran Folds Like a Wash-and-Wear Suit, Starts Begging for a Ceasefire

You're probably right! But we'll find out soon if it rubbed Trump the wrong way. Israel is attacking Iran as we speak.

    Interchangeable words, or confused meanings?

No avoiding, just pointing out error. In 1 Cor. 3:1, Paul is speaking to the Gentile Church at Corinth, he calls them "Brethren," The Gentiles are not his countryman, they are not Jews. He is calling them Brethren because they are Brethren in Christ. They were saved, not lost as you claim.

New: Iran Folds Like a Wash-and-Wear Suit, Starts Begging for a Ceasefire

Iran is glutton for punishment. A few minutes ago they fired several missiles at US troops in Qatar. No one was injured so far.

    Interchangeable words, or confused meanings?

This is an example of how wrong one can be when they place more confidence in Greek translation than in the context of Scripture.

    Interchangeable words, or confused meanings?

My effort was to explain "sarx" in the context of Scripture as Paul used it. Not what you can make of it from the Greek.
