What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Yes He did, and we've all been depraved and separated from God until He sent the Gospel to us and gave us truth. The only good that can be done in this world, by God's standard, is to believe in His Son's finished work and be led by the Spirit in good works.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

God said, if a righteous man turns from his righteousness he will die in his sins. Take it for what you see, that's what I'm doing.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Ok, if that's the way you see it, but I disagree.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Heb. 3:14 "For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" Was the "beginning of your confidence" the same as mine being Faith in Christ?

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Well I guess we disagree. Ezekiel gave the words of God that if a righteous man turns from his righteousness/faith he will die in his sins. It's very clear for me but obviously not so clear for some others.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

The context determines the type of death, physical vs spiritual. What happens when you "die in your sins" as Ezekiel said through God?

Did Jesus speak of hell more than heaven?

Yes, I've heard countless preachers say that. I've always taken it as the detail Christ gives to the horrors of Hell far outweigh the details He gave of heaven. I see Him actually mentioning heaven more often, but not in the detail He gives of Hell.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

Whether OT or NT man is saved by grace through faith, so when a righteous man turns from his righteousness he is turning from his faith that made him righteous. Die here in these verses is a spiritual death, eternal separation from God.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

The sow that was washed back to her wallowing in the mire? How about this? Ezek. 18:21-24 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions...

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

No man can pluck us out of His hands, but we most certainly can pluck ourselves out of His hands.

What Doctrine could keep us from Heaven?

How do you see this? 2 Peter 2:20-22 "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them...

I believe ALL who ever existed will be in God's Kingdom.

Hey, you can't give that spot to Scarlett, you've already given it to me!

    The Eternal Covenant of Grace.

LOL, you can't get enough of it, can you? Already proven the point I wanted to make. Us arguing as we have been doing for months will accomplish nothing.

    The Eternal Covenant of Grace.

Let's let Christ make that determination, we have no authority over the Scripture to convince anyone of anything.

I look forward to the day when we will all be in one accord.

    The Eternal Covenant of Grace.

Any good works that i may have are not mine in reality, they belong to the One who planned, organized, and gave me the privilege to do something in the name of my Christ. He, God the Holy Spirit is One who makes my good works possible through faith.

    The Eternal Covenant of Grace.

Psalms 37:3 "Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed." Trusting in the Lord is salvation! Doing good follows the trust in the Lord. It's called being conformed into the image of Christ. The good is all the work of the Holy Spirit through...

Whatever you say, K, it's ok with me.

    The Eternal Covenant of Grace.

The works because you are saved not the works to get saved. Those that have done good are those who trusted in Christ and their works do follow them.

    The Eternal Covenant of Grace.

I've proven my statement that Gill's commentary is based on hyper-Calvinism, and BF backed it up.
