JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

Hebrews 2:17 NASB Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brothers so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Here we see that Jesus had to be made like humans, so by His sacrifice, He...

JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

Romans 11:2 God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? Here the phrase "His people" is used to refer to believing Jews. God had planned for the believing descendants of Abraham...

JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

Our individual election happens during our lifetime. See 2 Thessalonians 2:13 or James 2:5 Christ was chosen to be God's Redeemer, His "Lamb of God" before the foundation of the world, so God planned for those His Redeemer would redeem corporately, thus we were chosen in Him before the...

JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

Yet another false claim, as humans had not yet been created, and when they were created, they were conceived in sin, and not in Christ!

JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

Matthew 1:21 NASB “She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” His People refers to all those God gives to Him, who God transfers our of the realm of darkness into His kingdom. If an individual is not in Christ, they have not been...

JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

John 11:51-52 Now he did not say this on his own, but as he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation; and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. Here we could...

JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

1 Corinthians 15:3 NASB For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, Here Paul tells us that the most important aspect of Christ's gospel is that Christ was slain to pay our debt due to sin.

JESUS SUFFERED THE WRATH OF GOD EQUIVALENT OF OUR ETERNAL HELL.

Isiah 53:5 NASB But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings; The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him, And by His wounds we are healed. If we use the context of the NT, we might understand its meaning thus: But our Savior was punished for our offenses...

    Who are our modern Nicolaitians?

We can find differing opinions about just what beliefs or practices causedJesus to hate them, Revelation 2:6. I believe mistreatment of the laity by teaching from authority things that dupe people into unfaithful practices describes the Nicolaitian sin. Similar to Balaam, the Nicolaitians put...

    Traditional Baptist Beliefs

Note yet another diversionary post, changing the subject to my behavior, rather to address the thread topic. The false claims include I do not quote scripture. See post #6. Then the claim they do not mean what they say, such as God chooses people through faith in the truth. Why do these...

    Traditional Baptist Beliefs

As usual, we get a diversionary post, changing the subject to my supposed behavior, rather than the topic. It is so old... Did I provide blurbs relating the doctrines held by the first traditional baptist church, and the first Particular Baptist church? Yes. So the nobody but Van knows what...

    Traditional Baptist Beliefs

Of course you can believe "Soul Liberty" means the lost are not at liberty to obtain salvation by grace through faith, because the outcome of their lives was pre-determined before the foundation of the world. Not what scripture teaches as held by traditional baptists. Of course you can believe...

Did Jesus speak of hell more than heaven?

Bottom line I did not find an explicit quote for either R. C. Sproul or John MacArthur, but I did from Leslie Schmucker. I think the issue should be did Jesus talk about Hades and Gehenna, the Lake of Fire and Eternal Punishment more than the others whose words are presented in the New Testament.

Did Jesus speak of hell more than heaven?

Here is John MacArthur saying Jesus spoke about "hell" more than all the others combined.

    Traditional Baptist Beliefs

The first English speaking Baptist church was established in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 1609 by English Dissenters who had fled persecution by the Church of England, using the power of the state under King James I. The first "Particular Baptist church was established in 1638 in London, England...

Did Jesus speak of hell more than heaven?

Were all the references spoken by Jesus? No, I disagree that only what Jesus is recorded as saying is the context. All of the NT was inspired, thus for us to use in our ministry for Christ. But we agree, our witness must include our warning to the lost concerning the "Second Death." This...

Did Jesus speak of hell more than heaven?

I found about 12 places where Gehenna is used in the NT, and about 11 places where Hades is used in the NT. Additionally, I found about 10 places where "abyss" is used in the NT. Also note that "fire" is often used to refer to an aspect of the end of the life of the lost. I would guess, "fire"...

Luke 21:32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.

James 2:1 NKJV My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. The Greek word translated as "partiality" is "prosōpolēmpsia" (G4382). Various English translations generally agree the idea is to judge others based on...

    Traditional Baptist Beliefs

Yes, man-made traditions becoming the lens by which scripture is interpreted. Top-down to the core. The gift of faith, rather than God crediting our faith. Chosen unconditionally rather than chosen through faith in the truth. No lost person seeks God, rather than many seek the narrow door...
