My niece had a baby last week. I knew she had it in her. Why do birds fly south for the winter? Because it's too far to walk. Dogs can't operate a MRI machine. But cats can. Right before surgery I asked the doctor if I could give myself my own anesthesia. He told me "Knock yourself out." i...

I regularly follow Mark's blog. He is an intelligent, knowledgeable and nice guy. According to that chart the NASB is 55% centrist. The NET is 70% centrist. The NLT is 20% centrist. Those are my estimates of those translation blocks. Mark said that these centrist Bible versions "get used as...

    About Andy Rooney

Andy was a master of 'why' questions. I have his book Sincerely, Andy Rooney. It's a good read. It contains his correspondence. His replies are clever. Dear Mr. O'Keefe, Reaction to my comments was mixed but I was pleased to note that the spelling in the letters favorable to me was...

    Is Ambiguity a Problem?

Functional equivalence is not functional non-equivalence. Formal equivalence is not formal non-equivalence. Cursive is not non-cursive. Obese is not non-obese. Aquatic is not non-aquatic. Cold is not non-cold. There, I hope sound logic becomes more pervasive.

What's the hardest thing about being a cross-eyed teacher? Controlling your pupils. You may think it's funny to kiss someone with a runny nose. It's not. (snot) I had an argument with a friend about what vowel was most important. I won. If money doesn't grow on trees, why do banks have...
