The TRUTH about the Preservation of the Bible.

I could. I suppose my feeling as a reader is that if I don’t see that any real effort was put into a post, I don’t see why I should give it the time of day. But it’s no big deal, really. Next time I’ll move on without mentioning it.

The TRUTH about the Preservation of the Bible.

I’m very passionate about subjects like this. I wish the original poster could at least put in the effort to type out a summary of the video's content instead of directing the readers to an external site where the teaching is handled for them. This way, we can pinpoint where to discuss a...

    When were we Chosen?

As I alluded to in another post, I think we are once again talking past each other. Nobody is denying that man chooses his own destiny in this world, but unless one has been awakened by the Holy Spirit, they are going to always choose the things of the world. God simply allows those people to...

    When were we Chosen?

I agree; however, that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone can respond positively to that knowledge. God desires that His command to repent be proclaimed to everyone, but He may have the desire to give grace to one group and judge the other on that basis.

    When were we Chosen?

Correct. Acts 17:29-31 (ESV) Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has...

    When were we Chosen?

If God intends to reach a lost person at the precise moment in time, then everybody else’s free will choices that lead up to that moment cannot preclude it from happening. There’s a reason why weather is nearly impossible to predict with 100% accuracy. When a butterfly unexpectedly jumps off a...

    ESV vs NKJV

The LSB, which is just a minor revision of the NASB ‘95 put together by John MacArthur’s team, goes one step further and translates the Tetragrammaton (small upper-case LORD) as Yahweh.

    When were we Chosen?

I see what the problem is. When responding to posters here, I always try to only quote the main point of their argument so as not to create clutter on my posts. By removing the quotation marks and the name of who quoted it, it does make it appear as if it was said by you. I assure you, that was...

    Annihilation

The Bible doesn't say that a lost person stops sinning after death. That's something to think about as well.

    When were we Chosen?

There must a misunderstanding. Where did I do that? That wasn’t my intention at all.

    When were we Chosen?

I’ll speak for myself, but I’m not left with any confusion after reading it. That is true; however, she was still in an unsaved state at that point. Was it her acts of worship that merited favor with God, and He rewarded her by opening her heart? They certainly did make the choice, but it...

    When were we Chosen?

Those seem to be your favorite two words that you like to use against the doctrines of grace. God has determined that we grow in knowledge, but that doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve found the many flaws present in synergism and have moved on, yet my journey to fully understanding the Scriptures is...

"There is safety in believing the words of the KJV Bible." A powerful quote by our Board member, JD731.

Indeed, there's safety in believing in the words of the KJV. That's also true of the NKJV, NASB, ESV, CSB, NIV, and so on. I can't say the same of some of the others, such as The Message or Passion Translation.

    When were we Chosen?

Okay, I don't know how you can say that. There are plenty of Orthodox Jews today who still trust in the God of the Old Testament, but without also trusting in Him as their Messiah, that isn't going to save them. Salvation has ALWAYS been through the Gospel. Just like us, Abraham was saved by...

    How To Tithe?

We are encouraged to tithe 10% of our gross income to the church, and in most cases it’s left up to leadership where that money goes. Most pastors will often say, “God owns all that you have, so give 10% back to Him.” Well, I certainly agree that God owns all that I have, but shouldn’t it be up...

    Governors election for 2026

The interesting thing about California is that there doesn’t appear to be a clear front-runner at this point. Polling had suggested that Kamala Harris would have won handily, but she announced a while back that she will not be entering the race. Perhaps she’s mulling another presidential run...

    Pure evil

Greetings, @easternstar. I pray all is well. If I may ask, when was the last time you thought the Democratic Party embodied moral values?

    The Free Gift

I think the problem that causes a lot of confusion sometimes is that we often talk past each other. As a monergist, I believe that a person who is lost must choose to accept Christ. However, this choice can only happen after they have been transformed from a God hater into a God lover. At that...

    When were we Chosen?

So Lydia was saved not needing to hear the Gospel? I can understand why that ability might be read into the text when the context of who is in view is missed. Regardless, folks tend to have a difficult time harmonizing that with the fact that Jesus said that nobody has that ability in John...
