    Satisfaction Atonement

Calvin was dead on the money in where man stands with God and what God has done for us to be redeemed. It's the application part that I disagree with. In that application there has been some false doctrine established. That's what I'm trying to point out in my rants and explanations.

    Satisfaction Atonement

I'm sure I don't have it all worked out, but until I can see something that fits other than PSA I'm sticking with it. The Calvinists have a completely different theology throughout the Scripture although I do agree with some things they have concluded.

    Satisfaction Atonement

I suppose it is for those who can't accept the realities of Hell.

    Satisfaction Atonement

And that's just about the bottom line< JonC.

    Satisfaction Atonement

The first and most noticeable difference is the interpretation of Scripture. Dispensationalism follows a literal interpretation until it becomes obvious it's not literal. That's a thorn in the rear of the Calvinists. Covenant Theology starts out in a similar way but has a twist of...

    Satisfaction Atonement

The same could be said of the Reformed/Covenant Theology who have no knowledge of Dispensationalism and no desire to understand it.

    Old Covenant?

Not trying to argue in the negative but only taking the insufficiency of the Old to its logical conclusion.

    Old Covenant?

I think that has already been brought out. Whose fault was it that the Old was not sufficient? Certainly not God being that man has now placed himself at the mercy and grace of God for his very survival. It took time for God to provide a Redeemer for man to be totally redeemed. Man is at...

    Old Covenant?

That's true, Van, but it was the fault of man that placed him in that position.

    Old Covenant?

I think it's simple why there was fault with the Old, "the blood of bulls and goats could not take away sin." It pointed to the One who could and would. But as I mentioned before, that was all that could be done until the atonement that ushered in the New.

    Women Pastors?

Speaking only for myself, I determine if a man or woman is in submission before God's creation model, concerning hair length, in that they make sure they can't be mistaken for the opposite sex. That's out the window in this society, no regard for God's order of submission for the man or woman...

    Women Pastors?

The Law of Moses never required a woman to wear head covering, that came from man. I see the woman covering her head as an option, but the length of her hair not an option according to the creation model. Fades come and go throughout time, but the length of hair on the man and woman has been...

    Women Pastors?

Paul said that long hair to a woman is her glory, but to a man it's shame. We all have our opinion on what is considered long. If you remember during WW 2 the French women that played the whore with the German soldiers had their hair cut off to their shame. Long hair is the same shame to a...

    Old Covenant?

I'm not going to comment on this, some things are best left alone.

    Old Covenant?

The fault of the Old Covenant was on man's part, the demands of God were based on the performance of man. A famous preacher once said that was all that could be done until the atonement.

God does not trust me with riches

I think for myself the statement, "I don't trust myself with riches" is more accurate. I'm afraid of riches, knowing there are things in this world that could come between my relationship with Christ. I see nothing wrong with riches in itself, but for me I see it as an unnecessary test with...

    Satisfaction Atonement

While holding to the PSA theory, I try to understand why God initiated the Law of Sin and Death, why must unrepentant man be separated from God? Now we enter into the character of God, who He really is, and His just demands from man as the Creator.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death

Sounds like you have been discipled under sound doctrine. It's possible the same person taught us.

    Snakes on a Pew

I was speaking more along the line of Health Care premiums. At 14 y.o. I was bitten by a moccasin on the right hand. They are not as poisonous as a rattler but still very poisonous. I was with Dad in the woods training his young Beagle rabbit dogs. After we kicked a few rabbits out of the...

    Snakes on a Pew

I wouldn't want my comments to discourage anyone wanting to prove their faith with literal poisonous snakes. I would suggest they confirm their insurance premiums are up to date before doing so.
