    Predestination is a Beautiful Doctrine.

@Charlie24 you have to remember they are using a different dictionary, a special calvinist one that has special definitions that fit they special understanding of the word of God.

    Predestination is a Beautiful Doctrine.

I do not agree with your view that following pagan philosophy rather than the word of God would be of benefit to me.

    Predestination is a Beautiful Doctrine.

Many find a number of teachings in scripture that are not there @Zaatar71. You should keep looking till you find the truth. Calvinism's DoG/TULIP is not scriptural but rather is based on false teachings from 4th century.

    Flaws of Calvinism

But we are not talking of technical salvation here BF. According to the calvinist view they were saved before creation. If they were chosen before creation then they could not be lost So whether they believed or not has no bearing on their salvation but since the bible clearly disagrees with...

    Flaws of Calvinism

Still an illogical view considering the calvinist philosophy that you seem to hold. God knowing who will freely trust in Him is not your God choosing who will trust in Him. Biblically no one is saved until they have trusted in Christ Jesus. Thus all could have been lost if no one had trusted...

    Predestination is a Beautiful Doctrine.

It cannot be the biblical view as it was not the teaching of the apostles but was brought into the church by augustine in the 4th century. Please do some research on the foundations of your view.

    Predestination is a Beautiful Doctrine.

I love God's plan I just do not find His plan in the DoG/TULIP of calvinism.

    Flaws of Calvinism

That is an illogical statement. If they were pre-chosen to go to heaven as the calvinists posits then they were at no time bound for hell. It was not even a matter of if they believed in Christ as by the calvinist version they were all pre-saved.

I would have to say that if he dropped a griz with a single slug the barrel would have to of been in the bears mouth. A shotgun just does not have the power to take down a bear unless you are real close and really really lucky.

Over the years I had had several rifles from a 303, 243, 270, 30.06, up to a 300 Win Mag for the bears out here. But they are all gone now due to age and a bad heart. I started out with the 303 as a kid back on the east coast. I liked the 30.06 as it would reach out a touch prairie antelope...

    Going by.."What is Written"

But your DoG are not scriptural. That is the error of false teachings and fanciful interpretations that has been pointed out numerous times on BBF.

    Flaws of Calvinism

Had to look this up as had not come across "theonomy" before. Theonomy presumes biblical Israel's Old Covenant judicial laws have not been abrogated, and therefore all civil governments must enforce them. At Christ's return I do not see in scripture where we will be under the OT laws. We are...

    Flaws of Calvinism

But if as you say they were chosen in eternity past then was there ever the possibility that they would not be in heaven? Not according to the flawed calvinist view there was not. So in reality they were never on the road to hell. Rejecting God was not a option for them was it.

    Going by.."What is Written"

That has been an on going problem when people trust in false teachings and fanciful interpretations by redefining the meaning of words and texts to fit a predetermined philosophical view.

    Flaws of Calvinism

If you had paid any attention to the many posts I have made regarding this then you would know that the RCC used many of augustines false teachings and you would also know that augustine brought many false pagan doctrines into the chruch which calvinism has carried forward to this day. If you...

    Flaws of Calvinism

If you actually did some research you would find that many of the RCC doctrines did come from Augustine just as many of the calvinist views came from him also. So now you are defending the RCC. That is a rather odd thing for a calvinist to do. Do you think that the RCC started at Peter? That...

    Flaws of Calvinism

That is your opinion but since one cannot fall away from a position that they do not hold your view really has no basis in reality.

    Flaws of Calvinism

Since he got his views from augustine and we see the result of his views in the RCC then we can see why calvin was not a christian. If he or augustine had followed the theological views that predated them then they would not have done the things they did. It just makes me wonder why anyone...

    Flaws of Calvinism

That is your opinion Van but the text IMHO does not support your view. So we disagree. So it would seem that you hold to the calvinist view that those that turn away were never really saved in the first place. Again a view not supported by scripture. Apostasy is a sin which can be committed...
