Is it not rather obvious that I was asking for a biblical position? S

Perishing without having ever heard the gospel they end up in....

Thank you. But permit me to ask. Is it that you find the scriptures silent or ambiguous on this, or you have not given it a hard thought?

Perishing without having ever heard the gospel they end up in....

Wonderful, eloquent but so what? Where do they end up? Reason I brought up the gospel aspect is because as Christians we generally believe the gospel has the power to save (ignore diverse Ordos salutis for now). There also appears to be condemnation for those rejecting the gospel. This class of...

Perishing without having ever heard the gospel they end up in....

Why would we even go around calling ourselves Christians if ' God knows who are his'? This sounds escapist Of course he does, so the question is, are they among his?

Edwards on "Limited Atonement" and Universal Redemption

I understand. I'm sorry I edited my post and added this. I have opened another thread on the unreached and I won't wish to derail your thread with its question, but quickly...a man perishing now without having ever been exposed to the gospel, did have 'an opportunity to be saved'? Please...

    On Eternal Decrees,Predestination, and Foreknowledge

Everything has one definition sir;it means ALL. Sinning is an event so if you hold onto God decreeing ALL events but not sinning, you are contradicting yourself. Of course you could be Arminian if you believe God permits some events without determinately rendering them certain and necessary.

Edwards on "Limited Atonement" and Universal Redemption

I see. This is no different from God authoring Sin; it's a case of testing what you assert versus what you demonstrate. The reason that charge has persisted and plagued every generation of Calvinists is, it takes a casual glance at their theory to pick its implications. I have opened another...

    On Eternal Decrees,Predestination, and Foreknowledge

Thank you. I wholly agree. I was told God decrees everything because he is sovereign. Do you think God decrees everything?

Edwards on "Limited Atonement" and Universal Redemption

Sounds like Calvinism is as diverse as fingerprints. A quick one. Give me a clear 'logical conclusion' of Calvinism he found based on Calvinists' misunderstanding, and the solution he advanced.

    On Eternal Decrees,Predestination, and Foreknowledge

@JonC, From the few threads we have had I think I have a fair grasp of these terms. My question to you is, Do sovereign decrees merely render events possible or do they determinatively render them certain(must) and necessary?

Perishing without having ever heard the gospel they end up in....

Not sure if this has been addressed before so please forgive me if it is repetitive. Coming from Kenya where Christianity is less than 200 years young, and where vast parts of the country are yet to hear the gospel, this question is for ever coming up in Christian circles. My great grandparents...

Edwards on "Limited Atonement" and Universal Redemption

Thank you sir I wish rationale for shutting them was indicated. Why was Edwards so rattled by provisional atonement?

Apologies for digression. On what basis are threads shut?
