When you figure it out let me know so I can contact all the scholars in the world with the evidence.

Everyone agrees Christ was crucified on preparation day, but the exact date of that day is unknown. The problem is the High Day that week, how did that work in harmony with the Gospels? That's why we have a possible Wed., Thur., or Fri. You have Christ crucified on the 15th of Nisan, that is...

As long as there are 2 scholars left in the world that will be refuted by one.

But yet we don't the exact date of our Saviors birth and death. Go figure! Only one explanation, God didn't intend for us to know in one way or another.

Read the 2 different interpretations a few times and give it some thought for a few days. It will sink in, go sit on the porch and peel an apple, that's when stuff happens, lol.

It will come to you when you're on the porch peeling an apple, or something like that.

Those dates can't be confirmed. We don't know the exact year Christ was crucified.

I'm wondering if you hold the view of Josephus and Talmud, or the alternative view. I hold the former while I believe you hold the latter.

Now which interpretation are you using for the evening of the 14th of Nisan?

I pulled up something I think may help define what time the evening of the 14th of Nisan occurred. I think maybe this is our misunderstanding. The evening of the 14th of Nisan (Passover) refers to the time "between the two evenings," interpreted by historical and Temple records as the...

We are not agreeing on how the days work in Jewish time. I'm repeating myself over and over, so it seems we are wasting each other's time. So to each his own as my Dad would say. I agree to disagree.

You have just described a Wed. crucifixion! Wed. being the preparation day that Christ was crucified, the 15th being the next day Thurs. the High Day.

This is where the Wed. crucifixion comes into view. In Mark 14:12 "And the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the Passover..." We know the Passover sacrifice is not killed on the High Day Sabbath, as many here wrongly interpret. Mark is referring the first day of Unleavened Bread...

Exodus 12:18 states the evening of the 14th "you shall eat unleavened bread." That is at sunset on the 14th. At the same time, the same sunset the 15th begins. It's like at midnight on the 14th, it is the 15th at that very moment, beginning a new day. They were eating the Passover at this...

You don't need to look any further than John 19:31. They were placing Christ in the tomb and the Sabbath was the next day, the High Day, the first day of Unleavened Bread, the 15th.

Yes, we disagree. The 14th of Nisan is preparation day for the first day of Unleavened Bread. The 14th, preparation day, ended at sunset and the first day of unleavened Bread began marking the 15th. Christ died on preparation day, clearly stated in the Gospels. It was the 14th of Nisan.

Going back to JonC point on tradition and how they interpreted the 2 Sabbaths that week, and what they actually did is unknown. So we are not interpreting the info from the 4 authors the way the Sanhedrin did. Everything we process comes to a dead end. We simply don't have enough info, and I...

Your interpretation on those verses, as in the last thread, depend on when the Sabbath High Day fell that week. In John 19:31 he tells beyond a doubt that Sabbath in question was a High Day, it was the first day of Unleavened Bread.

Yes, I agree! I was going to give him an example of misinterpretation between Mark and John concerning the timing of the activities of the Sacrificial System at Passover. But then the 2 Passovers came to memory and I went with that.

The days begin at evening after sunset, whereas the Sacrificial System sets itself apart in that it begins at dawn or sunrise with the first sacrifice around 9am or so. But this is not direct a point as JonC has brought up.
