    Too many PhD's & ThD's???

Is the seminary/graduate school of theology turning into a conglomerate business where the job market is getting too competitive with hiring faculty due to an excessive number of trained hirees? or to put it another way... Are there too many PhD programs and such as well as not enough faculty...

    Which online seminary?

Piedmont Baptist College and Grad School is NOT liberal. In fact, I would say they are more conservative than LU. On what basis was your pastor making these claims???

Why pastors should learn Biblical Languages

All's I know is that there is a big difference in the preacher's message if he has trained and put to practice the exegesis of the original language. Some of the best sermons I have heard come from men who have spent pain-staking hours in their HOT or GNT wrestling with the text. I don't want...

Would Martin Luther want the MDiv to have "Biblical Languages?"

My opinion is that the languages improve the breadth and depth of preaching. Anyone training for pastoral ministry ought to learn language for that reason alone (among many other reasons). So if you are MDiv bound, learn the languages.

What are the two Bible Versions that you use the most?

NASB (mostly) & NKJV (to get my TR fix ;)). I also check the ESV and NET (good translational notes sometimes). GNT's (since Dr. Bob brought it up) I use the UBS4 in study and keep the Reader's GNT with my NASB (I put both in a leather Bible cover and take that to church, if you even cared to...

    NHL Playoffs

I'm a die-hard Wings fan. So after the major disappointment to a scrub Shark team, I'm pulling for the Hawks. Keep it with the original 6.

    Your personal translation journey

I never knew I was supposed to be on a journey. ;) I used the KJV when I was a kid, but I wasn't taught that it was the only translation. However, I didn't know other translations existed either. Going to Bible College, my dad got me a NKJV. Met a girl who was KJVO, converterd her after...

Spiritual body of all true believers?

Allow me to offer a reason why I hold to a Body of Christ Church. Galatians (I hold the South Galatia view and thus the earliest of Paul's writings) uses the singular and plural of εκκλεσια drawing distinctions between the two. Gal 1:2 and all the brothers who are with me, To the churches...
