Flashback: London's Mayor Welcomes Migrants, Says Attacks Are Part of Life

Yes, but what has that got to do with the OP reference to open borders and migrants?

Flashback: London's Mayor Welcomes Migrants, Says Attacks Are Part of Life

Open borders had nothing to do with the Westminster murders last Wednesday: they were committed by a man called Adrian from Kent.

Could Southern Baptist Russell Moore lose his job?

I hope he doesn't. He is the prophetic voice of sanity in the SBC.

    Terrorism in London

You're missing the elephant in the room then: Islam had naff all to do with his violence [ETA And the Met, who are possessed of more of the facts than any of us can, disagree with the supposed ISIS connection: they state he acted alone, much as ISIS would love to claim him as one of their own]

    Terrorism in London

He was certainly raised one: brought up by Christian parents in East Sussex and Kent. Turned to violence long before he turned to Wahhabism.

GOP Health Care Bill Is More Unpopular Than Obamacare Ever Was

You're right, it's pure communism: you start with free cardiac care and quickly end up with the collectivisation of agriculture and invasion of Czechoslovakia

    Terrorism in London

Seems like he was a violent Christian called Adrian who became a violent Muslim called Khalid.

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

Except that the Scottish form of nationalism espouse by the SNP is a civic rather than ethnic nationalism, hence why the vote was given to all residents of Scotland regardless of ethnicity.

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

Not true. Although Glasgow has a higher unemployment rate that the rest of the UK, indeed most of the rest of Scotland, that is in part historical and structural, as EW&F has said: the decline of shipbuilding and other industries on the Clyde from the 1970s onwards, there being similarities with...

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

Well, there is now talk of an English independence movement...or at least greater devolved powers to the English regions/ counties

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

 Correct: there was a lot of hot air about North Sea oil and gas revenues sustaining an independent Scotland's tax take, despite expert advice that the reserves of both were limited. One of the problems with what has now been promised to the Scots is that this preserves the...

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

Not as many as half but more than the UK average which we English taxpayers pay for (and other things) under the Barnett Formula, which is one of the reasons I think why many Scots who voted 'no' to independence did so. Independence therefore would not have terribly financially hurt the rest of...

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

More dysfunctional rule for all of us from Westminster and Whitehall.

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

Agreed. There is a perception that the rest of the UK is in effect a vassal of not just the political elite in Westminster but the social and economic elite of London; there is a consensus emerging that there has to be a greater devolution of powers from the centre to the regions and nations of...

Scottish independence: Sterling on knife-edge as City braces for Scots vote

If the Scots go, Cameron will have to resign as PM, almost certainly. But Alex Salmond hasn't answered key questions: what currency will an independent Scotland use, what defences will it have, will the Queen have to use her passport to visit Balmoral?

    World Cup

Wonder if the Manaus pitch will be ready for the England match at the weekend. Don't fancy our chances much; I hear the pilot of the England team's plane offered to keep the engines running for them...

Ukrainian air force fired over 150 missiles

Poncho, I really hope your wife/girlfriend/daughter/sister is never raped, partly for the obvious reasons but also because I look forward to your demanding documentary evidence from the lady concerned to substantiate her allegation before you'll believe her. Good luck with that... For the...

Ukrainian air force fired over 150 missiles

First off, the BBC is not 'state controlled'. It is funded indirectly by the state through the licence fee and is thus akin to a public service broadcaster. It has at times been one of the fiercest critics of the particular government of the day, so your comparison does not stack up. Secondly...
