How Do Christian who prefer TR Greek text view Moden Versions based upon CT?

Deficient, but the Word of God to the exact extent it duplicates the autographs.

If The Trinitarian Bible Society Did a revised Kjv Would KJVO accept it?

I seriously doubt if they would even care, because they are a "Bible society." Bible societies are all about missionary translation, not more English translations (of which there are 100s.) I am friends with the American rep for the TBS, and he is an awesome missionary Bible translator...

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

Bill had a very effective way of kicking. He had a bad left knee, so he did all his kicks with the right foot. He would raise the knee the same way for a side kick, roundhouse kick and hook kick. You never knew which kick was coming! I saw him in person fight for the championship with Joe...

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

In case anyone is interested, I'm attaching the PDF of a document I wrote when I was tested for 6th black. It describes Asian monism, comparing it to trichotomy. Monism is the belief that body and spirit/soul can be unified, giving the practitioner great power--the chi/ki connection in Asian...

By the way, Chuck Norris is a born again Christian, and teaches Christian values in his classes.

The New Testament for Gen Z

Maybe so, but have you heard of the Cotton Patch version? Supposed to be a serious effort--maybe. :Coffee

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

I don't know about that. I've heard when he does pushups he simply moves the earth away and pulls it back. :Biggrin But actually, I fought in tournaments when I was a lowly green and then brown belt back when Chuck was the world full contact champ. Never met the guy, though I have met Bill...

Actually, very few American styles go in for the mysticism, though some do. And I know one style done by the Muslims in N. China, Tan Tui, which has nothing to do with eastern religion, obviously. By the way, you seem well informed about the martial arts. Are you a martial artist yourself?

Should a Christians be Involved in Martial Arts then

Absolutely yes. I've been involved in the martial arts for almost 60 years, starting in 9th grade: wrestling through high school (yes, it's a Western martial art), judo, karate, various styles of kung fu. My primary reason was for self defense, but I get great exercise and just enjoy doing it...

I never heard it put that way before.

    Self defense and security teams?

Several years ago a Baptist missionary of our acquantance was shot to death in Cameroon by an unknown assailant. Many places on that continent are still dangerous. The northern half of the country is off limits due to the insurgency. I preached in Bangladesh about 15 years ago--Muslim majority...

    Self defense and security teams?

I did say "well trained." I suggest that the methodology of our Baptist church security team is quite different from what you are describing here. We do have a full range of security cameras. This post is full of good thoughts. I'm going to put it into a Word doc and keep it for reference...

John R. Rice and the KJV

Let me see. A theology based not on the covenants directly taught in Scripture, but on two or three (depending on the writer) covenants invented by the theologians with no biblical bases? Not a help to godliness if it doesn't come from Scripture but from the mind of the theologians. But I'm...

Got it. Thank you. Good research.

    Self defense and security teams?

Sad that anyone, especially any Christian, would think that way.

    Self defense and security teams?

I think you are right when looking at broader evangelicalism, but fundamentalists still support missionaries by the faith missions method of Hudson Taylor, and have them in often. So to the average fundamentalist, the word "missionary" still means a church-planting, evangelistic cross cultural...

    Self defense and security teams?

Having been a cross cultural missionary for decades, I'm somewhat jealous of the term. I know pastors say, "You are all missionaries," and sometimes there is a sign over the door as you leave the church, "You are now entering the mission field." However, if everyone is a missionary, the word...
