Can Non Calvinists Believe the Gospel Of The Kingdom? Is that Even Possible?

Canadyjd wrote: "1 Corinthians is very clear. Since man did not come to know God through their own wisdom, God was well pleased through the foolishness of the message preached (Jesus Christ and Him crucified) to save those who believe. There is no salvation without the gospel. The ideology of...

Can Non Calvinists Believe the Gospel Of The Kingdom? Is that Even Possible?

Can Non Calvinists Believe the Gospel Of The Kingdom? Is that Even Possible? I'm not sure what is particularly intended by the word "of the Kingdom", but if it is meant to say believing in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins and salvation, per...

Can Non Calvinists Believe the Gospel Of The Kingdom? Is that Even Possible?

I didn't say that. I am saying Calvinism does not equal Christianity because Calvinism DOES get many things wrong. Basically, they read Scripture backward. They think they believe because they are saved, but Scripture says we are saved because we believe. They get it backward. That does NOT...

Can Non Calvinists Believe the Gospel Of The Kingdom? Is that Even Possible?

In regard to Old Testament saints, they were not saved in the sense we are today. The Holy Spirit moved on them but did not indwell them. They didn't go to Heaven at death, but went instead to Abraham's Bosom, which was apparently in the Earth, in a separate compartment from hell, with a gulf...

    What did Barnabas see?

Just a note: Prophesy is a verb. Prophecy is a noun. A prophet prophesies prophecies. And they are pronounced differently. :)

    What did Barnabas see?

I think it was a fair number of years before Gentiles started receiving and believing on the Lord Jesus. It seems from Scripture it took a while for Paul and Peter to understand God intended salvation to go beyond the Jews and Israel.

Can Non Calvinists Believe the Gospel Of The Kingdom? Is that Even Possible?

I did not see where Silverhair said either of those two things. And no, I don't believe either of those, unless we're talking about babies and children too young or people too incapacitated to understand much of anything, much less believe the Gospel.

    What did Barnabas see?

He saw Jews and Gentiles worshiping God together. In other words, he saw the results in action of God's grace to all mankind.

Can Non Calvinists Believe the Gospel Of The Kingdom? Is that Even Possible?

They think Calvinism IS Christianity. You know they came part way out of Catholicism. Ask a Catholic if he is a Christian. He will answer, “I’m a Catholic.” He assumes Catholic and Christian are the same. I hope we know being a Baptist is not always the same as being a Christian, even...

Questions for those holding to KJVO Position

The perfect tense in English describes actions that are completed in relation to the present, past, or future. It includes three forms: present perfect (e.g., "I have eaten"), past perfect (e.g., "I had eaten"), and future perfect (e.g., "I will have eaten").

Questions for those holding to KJVO Position

The King James came from the Masoretic Text, as I recall, so of course the KJB should align with those. God promised to preserve His Word. I believe the 1611 Translators were led of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures were already inspired. No Christian churches ever accepted the Apocrypha, and...

    Rock Bottom

Regulus, I went through what you are going through. It was indeed the roughest time of my life. It was horrible. I didn't want it to happen. Here I am, actually several decades later. I prayed and asked God to please send me a Christian wife, who loved the Lord Jesus, and if she did, then...

Is This really Lordship Salvation view then?

Everyone has a Lord. If it's not the Lord Jesus, then it is the Lord's enemy, the god of this age. Salvation is by grace, not works. If you are convicted and converted, born again, regenerated--then your life will show it. And the Lord Jesus is your Lord. If you REJECT the Lord Jesus as...
