Psalms and Proverbs Reading / Praying Schedule

If any moderate thinks there would be a better place to put this please feel free… i guess I did drop this in the debate “Other” forum… so perhaps not the best place.

Any one here doing anything for Lent?

Lent predates RCC. I personally dont follow any stipulated daily or weekly observances by any High Church, but I actually like the idea of mimicking Jesus’ 40 days in the desert of devotion to God, even if it is greatly diminished vs what He did. Lord knows I could do better with prayer and...

Psalms and Proverbs Reading / Praying Schedule

Hey all there’s not a good forum category for where to put this since I am part of more of a Bible church than a Baptist Church so I can’t put it in one of the Baptist categories where it might fit better. This is a biannual reading and prayer schedule that goes through psalms and proverbs...

Any one here doing anything for Lent?

We do some Advent stuff for a few weeks up to Christmas. Lent is a similare sort of things for 40 days leading to Easter. I was planning on lore prayer and some fasting. Blessings brother.

Any one here doing anything for Lent?

Just curious if anyone will be praying or fasting more the next 40 days.

Redeems those He died for from the Prison of Unbelief !

I’d like to start a thread on corporate election since I’m going to be teaching through Ephesians one soon. Unfortunately, I’m concerned that BF will completely hijack a thread with multiple single posts and no substitute ability to move it forward. Not really interested in having that clog up a...

Redeems those He died for from the Prison of Unbelief !

Just because Peter used the word “bought” doesn’t mean he’s not talking about the same thing. This is a synonym to talk about being purchased, redeemed, saved. In fact, both first Peter and second Peter passages referred to salvation and being purchased by the Lord. Again, I will point out that...

If once saved - can again be lost? The Poll

And then add to that, and how does Heb reconcile with Rom 11?! ;D
  9. Psalty

Redeems those He died for from the Prison of Unbelief !

Your post explains 1 Pet 1. You dont say what “bought” means in 2 Pet 2:1. You just say it’s not blood redemption… you dont say why. You dont say what 2 Pet 2 means, so here I wait.

Redeems those He died for from the Prison of Unbelief !

You claimed that “bought” means something other than “redeemed”. Both are financial purchase terms. So you exegete it! What else can bought mean? All you have said is that “bought” isnt redeemed. What does your Calvinism tell you it means? What buying did Jesus do of these people? I wait...

If once saved - can again be lost? The Poll

I dont consider myself Arminian, but how do you understand Rom 11?
  12. Psalty

Redeems those He died for from the Prison of Unbelief !

You are the one claiming Limited Atonement. This verse was brought up to show that The Master (Jesus) bought false prophets that introduce destructive heresies. It directly says it. There is nothing to exegete. Your theology cant answer it, which is why you ran away to 1 Peter instead...

Redeems those He died for from the Prison of Unbelief !

Truth. Did you see how he ran away from 2 Peter 2:1? Literally contradicts what he says, but Goes to a completely different book so he doesnt have to answer. Reminds me of that Monty Python and the Holy Grail scene… “Run away! Run away!”

If once saved - can again be lost? The Poll

I like John 15 and Romans 11. Keep abiding. If you dont, you are broken off. But you can be grafted in again. You must abide, my dudes!
  15. Psalty

Redeems those He died for from the Prison of Unbelief !

No, but you are saying unconditionally elect. This is calvinistic assuming you mean that God produces and irresistibly graces a believer, effectually causing them to believe. Is that what you mean?

Not merited is the primary condition of election!

Van, here is the best example: Its literally unreal. The verse he uses says nothing about God giving faith to access grace, bit that is the only way he can read it. He reads different words.
  17. Psalty

Not merited is the primary condition of election!

Its why he will never answer basic question or give basic scripture to actually support his view. I have realized that this is what hardening oneself looks like. At least I know now that BF is not an honest debater, wont stick to a point, and isnt interested when scripture contradicts him...

Not merited is the primary condition of election!

Regeneration preceeding faith…Its a nice theological sequence you have, but as you said earlier “its just you running off at the mouth.”

    Go out in Jesus Name

I dont think that is true. Cornelius loves God in Acts 10. There are more, but this is enough for our purposes.
